Congress to Extend $8000 Tax Credit for Military Personnel

As a Veteran and a Realtor, it makes me proud to see our government adjusting the Tax
Credit for our military members who have been outside of the US for at least 90 days over
the past year. We often have such a bond with the those who are serving or who have
served, because we understand the hard work and dedication it takes to protect our country.

Our Military personnel, under both the House and Senate versions of the bill, members of the armed services, U.S. Foreign Service or intelligence agencies would need to show they worked outside the country for at least 90 days in the past year. The tax credit would be extended for one year, until Nov. 30, 2010.  The House passed the bill 416 - 0.

If you serve in an area that has a heavy military influence or if you serve in an area that has a few Veterans are returning.  Education is the key, lets make sure all the men and women serving are informed and afforded the opportunity to get the Tax Credit.

Go back and check your souce on this. Right now it is a bill passed by the House of Representatives. It is not law yet. It hasn't passed the senate yet. I certainly hope it will. Just go check your source.

Karen, I didn't say they passed it.  The House Bill was approved, still pending the Senate approval.  We should stay ahead of the power curve, but the Senate approval looks very likely.  Thanks for the input.

Eric-I had blogged about this last week.  I think we have to all be careful in our headlines as it seems to be a no brainer that the Senate will pass it but it is still with the Senate Finance committee.  It is behind the Health Care bill so as much as we would like to see this as law we may still have a little wait.
