Beacon's Reach in Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina is not just property, but a Lifestyle

In 1953, Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. and her four children inherited a large piece of property that is now know as the Roosevelt Natural Area. The Roosevelts developed a plan for a town that would preseve the natural beauty of the area, Pine Knoll Shores

Beacon's Reach development began in 1978 on a couple hundred acres, just to the west of the Roosevelt Natural Area.  Sticking with the plan developed by the Roosevelts, Condos were constructed along landscaped trails and surrounded by Live Oak trees, saving as much of the natural maritime forest as possible.

Beacon's Reach in Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina now consists of more than 450 condominiums, town houses and single-family homes. Situated on the beautiful island of Bogue Banks and bordered on the South by the Atlantic ocean and on the North by Bogue Sound, Beacon's Reach is a lot more than just property...It is a Lifestyle.

Amenities at Beacon's Reach are abundant!

  • swimming pools
  • tennis courts
  • basketball courts
  • private marina with boat ramp
  • Boat slips and storage areas
  • private beach access
  • Biking and hiking trails
  • Fishing docks
  • "Situms" for wildlife viewing or just daydreaming.

The marina offers access to the intercoastal waterway, which stretches from Virginia all the way down to Key West, Florida.  A quick boat jaunt East, takes you to the Beaufort Inlet, otherwise known as the Gateway to the Atlantic.  If you enjoy fishing, Beacon's Reach in Pine Knoll Shores is the place for you!

If you stand on the private beaches of Beacon's Reach and look East-South-East, you may see the flash of the beacon atop the Cape Lookout Lighthouse every 15 seconds.  The lighthouse sits nineteen miles away and has been warning mariners to steer clear of the outer bank's shoals for almost 150 years. You guessed it, That is where Beacon's Reach gets it's name!

Beacon's Reach can be found between Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle on Highway 58, which runs 22 miles from one end of the island to the other.  It is just a few moments from Fort Macon State Park, The Country Club of the Crystal Coast and North Carolina Aquarium, and just steps from the beautiful Crystal Coast Beaches and Bogue Sound.

If you're looking for your own piece of Lifestyle, Look to Beacon's Reach.

Hi Amy -- What a beautiful lifestyle to have.  Makes me yearn for the beach.  I've been to the Outer Banks many times and I love it there, quite the respite from daily stress.

David, You should check out Beacon's Reach next time.  My family has owned property there for years, and it is absolutely a special place.

Elizabeth, Isn't that photo Great...My mom shared that with me. She lives in Beacon's Reach and jogs every morning and caught that one.

Chris, The next time you are in the Outer Banks, You should stop by.

Sue, I love the Crystal Coast, but wish I could get out to your end of NC more often. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful state, aren't we?

Carla, Thank You.  We are all very proud of our history here in Pine Knoll Shores.  One of the original developers and board members of Beacon's Reach was an agent in our office until he was diagnosed with cancer a couple years ago and My parents have lived and served in Beacon's Reach for the past 20 years, so I have had some great teachers.

Kate, My husband and I vacationed in Murphy last Christmas.  We stayed at Cobb Creek Cabins (the owners are friends of mine from my Florida days).  We fell in love with Murphy!  Stop by next time you are around, and I will do the same.
