As I write this at 8am on Tuesday 20 October, 2009, some THREE MILLION pink slips have been sent to members of Congress individually addressed, personalized with senders name and address and delivered to all members of Congress by Fed Ex.

Three million after just THREE WEEKS since the campaign started.

The idea was conceived by Janet Porter of Faith2Action and a WND weekly columnist. "They didn't listen to the Tea Parties and the Town Halls; maybe they'll start listening when they're tripping over boxes of Pink Slips and stacking them from floor to ceiling!" she said

"We need to erect a firewall of pink slips before they vote to take our freedoms, our free enterprise, and our very lives with socialized medicine.".

Of course with 2010 approaching, members of the House in particular are looking towards the election - as usual the top priority! This innovative campaign will hopefully have the effect of reminding exactly who they work for!

If you want to be a part of it, just follow the links provided. It is actually a cheap way of sending a very powerful message due to the economies of scale - and Fed Ex WILL deliver.

More from Janet Porter: "There is a revolution brewing across this country," she said. "People are angry about losing their country and they are ready for action. This campaign is just the latest evidence."

Send your pink slips to Congress now

Great business for Fedex during this time. I agree we have to get their attention because we are heading in the wrong direction.

Simon - A symbolic gesture that will be totally ignored by the recipients.  Too bad though, many of them need to find a new line of work.  Sadder still, most of the same old faces will get re-elected by those wanting to clean house.

John - I'm not 100% sure you're right about that. Three million is a very large number. The ones feeling vulnerable at the ballot box may well take some notice. I really think that with very few exceptions, they all suck! And none of them have read what the role of Congress was supposed to be. The two year rule for example, was originally intorduced because they didn't think they could convince people to leave their families for longer than that length of time. It was supposed to be a part time temporary job!

I'm all for the pink slips.  Let's face it....there were some good Republicans and some bad.  Same with the Dems.  We've had a couple of great Dem presidents.  Unfortunately, we have the worst possible one in office now.  He needs his pink slip.

Already sent mine to Suzanne Kosmas.  Time to get some real leaders into office that will actually do something worthwhile.

UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...

A new surge has pushed the total number of "pink slips" heading toward members of Congress past 3.5 million, just after a second member of that institution issued a ringing endorsement of the effort.

"Ultimately it is the private citizen who is the final judge on the success or failure of the government," said Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo. "The 'pink slip campaign' serves as a good reminder of the unavoidable fact that every member of Congress answers to their constituents and that they ignore their voices at their own peril."

Earlier, a Minnesota congresswoman had offered her support for the program.

"The pink slips program is a great way to get the attention of members who have forgotten they will have to answer to the people next year on out-of-control spending and Washington power grabs," Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., said. "I support it! And I want my constituents to know I hear them loud and clear."

Simon, THANKS for posting this. I am on my way over to send a pink slip right now!

I agree with you. If they only received a couple they could ignore it...BUT if there were some way for them to drop the 3.5 million in the middle of the floor in front of ALL of the "BIG SHOTS" that would be awesome and I would pay to be there!!!

Getting the attention of members who have forgotten they will have to answer to the people next year !

YES, THAT'S RIGHT 2010

Holy cow, I haven't seen a scam like this since I went to the fair last. I can't believe people are sending their hard earned $29.95, when they can do the same thing for under 10 dollars....

I agree, spending is out of control. Not only in WDC but for pink slips.  I want to know where this money is going.  Someone for once please be honest.  It seems like the deceipt is not just limited to Washington.

Nogui, its ok... $30.00 to us is nothing... believe me its getting the point across... you guys just are wishing it wasnt happening thats all.. :)  Relax... we are just reminding them that the real pink slip is on its way in November... Nothing for you to get worked up about...  Are yall just now hearing about this?  Simon told us about it a few weeks ago...

"Dan", I don't think those of us who ordered these care who is making the money as long as we do what they tell us they are going to do its worth the money.  Maybe its going towards Republican fund raisers.. maybe its going into the persons pocket who thought of it.. good for them!

Somebody please do the math.  Three Million times thirty bucks, would certainly help pay off some of the national debt, or pad someone's pocket.  Shhhhh.  I know which.

11:02pm • #18

"Dan"    maybe Obama should take notes from the people who started the business... thats what we are all about, have an idea, make some money off of it.. Yeeee Haaaaa!!!!

11:09pm • #19

Clearly that person is capitalist, Tana.

I mean for 10 bucks they could have done the same thing except send three.

I think maybe I'll rtart one of these but have the people send them through the regular mail.

11:19pm • #20

Clearly they ARE Nogui... and good for them...

You should start whatever you want!  Thats what makes America so wonderful  YOU CAN!!!!!!  They did it by Fed X to get it there quick and so it was trackable... Make sure it got there and it WASNT a scam.

Dont be jealous Nogui... someone made money.... and its OK......Don't hate, don't hate...

The pink slips crack me up... Just sitting here thinking of how many envelopes are delivered by Fed X....those things are stacking up everywhere... The physical reminder is perfect.

To say that they will pay no attention to them is stupid...The left would like to think its a scam, of course they are attempting to undermine EVERYTHING to no avail... spinning their wheels big time. I think I will send 2 a month until Nov. 2010 when they get their real ones!!!!!

They can't ignore getting all those pink slips especially when they reaize the American Public is paying to have them sent.  It's not a free message.

Need to send them the boot, but hey maybe that is coming. How can a group with 21% appoval rating be making decisions for us.

The pink slip is a creative idea.

But I'm not sure what "no hate crimes" has to do with the other fiscal items on the list.

Such protest actions may influence a congressional vote now and again.

But they will not solve the biggest problems we have.  One of those is:

Too many members of Congress have been there forever.

(Mine ran against Congress and supported term limits when he first ran for the office -- over 20 years ago.)

(You can't solve this problem with term limits.  The Supreme Court says congressional term limits can only be put in place by federal Constitutional Amendment.  Unfortunately, that takes action by Congress to refer an amendment to the states (and 39 legislatures to then ratify).)

The solution to this problem is not to make empty threats about "pink slips".

Something like 98% of all members of Congress (who run for re-election) win every election.

The only solution for this problem is:

Finding a worthy alternative candidate for Congress and

Supporting that candidate with:

Your Money

Your Time

Your Friends.
