Long and Foster agents in Crofton, Maryland, jumped into action when I told them about Operation Christmas Stocking, just five days ago.

There were so many bags and boxes of goodies in my office, two days later, that I could barely make a path to my desk.  Yesterday, several agents and family members showed up to fill 101 holiday gift bags!

Toiletries, toys, playing cards, puzzle books and pencils, notepaper and pens, candy and lots of other things overflowed the holiday gift bags, along with a hand-wrtten Christmas card to say "thank you" to the gift bag recipient.

I'd like to say "thank you" to my office for responding so quickly and generously.  You're amazing!

Margaret-how fantastic that you managed to fill 101 gift bags. Operation Christmas Stocking is a wonderful way to say thank you to our troops who will miss the chance to be home with their loved ones.

Margaret, isn't that great! Our board of realtors will do something for the kids in town as we get a bit closer. It is the right thing to do, isn't it. How wonderful that you are doing something for the soldiers though, that is just fantastic. Makes you feel real good inside!

Margaret what a wonder idea and successful turn out. We need to do something like that here. I'm going to suggest it in sales meeting!

How great.... as I watched the video, I got teary eyed! Our troops are so brave and your office did a wonderful thing. I am sure your post here inspired others to jump in and do the same. I will be checking with our local base to see what programs we can support!

Margaret.....TOTALLY AWESOME! Loved the holiday music on the show....altho you know it will be starting in the stores before long and then we will all be sick of it! LOL!

I wonder if my office would "rise" to such an occasion?

Margaret, I always enjoy hearing about agents in other parts of the country helping out. We sponsor families, volunteer at Mobile Loaves and Fishes and work directly with habitat for Humanity at our office here in Austin, Texas!

We put this together and finished it in just 5 days to make sure our packages arrive in Utah by the Nov. 1 deadline.  Operation Give pays for shipping to their warehouse and shipping overseas, through the help of donors.  If you don't have time to organize something like we did this year, a financial donation would help pay for all this shipping.

Put this on your list for next year - we had a LOT of fun doing this as an office project!

Margaret what a great thing to do. We have something similar up here that one of the agents form another office heads up as she has a son-in-law in Iraq. Thanks for sharing

By the way, did anyone recognize Activerainer Rich Iarossi in the photos?  He was a huge help, first tackling the job of filling 20 stockings and then helping to pack the cartons for shipping.  Then he was kind enough to help me out even more by going online to get the shipping information for me.  Thank you, Rich!

Margaret- I was wondering how it all turned out and I can see it was a huge success. Congrats on putting it together. I had fun shopping for some of the goodies and was sad I could not be there to help put them together. And to think you were aiming for just 60. LOL

Even when the market isn't the best we come to the aid of people that need some happiness. Great job.

Martha - I saw you on the sign-up list.  Thank you for participating!  It was such a hit with so many people in the office that I suspect we'll do it again next year, with a few lessons learned.  It was quite an organizational challenge and fortunately my daughter-in-law Christine took on tha role.  She was awesome!

Since this is not the world's best real estate market, I wasn't sure how much people would be able to do.  I was truly blown away by their generosity.
