Yep, its true. I'm the King of Green builders on AR. Top ranked builder in Texas, the 3rd overall on AR, but the #1 builder when it comes to "green" construction and alternative energy.
It's 3 days short of my 1 year anniversary as King (or guru). Here's the post where the coronation took place:
Mike has just proclaimed himself the "Home Building Guru in Residence" for the AR Community!
Being King does not make me a snob.
It makes me a valuable part of your virtual team. A knowledgeable and practiced resource for your business. I have built with most of the technologies on the market today: ICF, SIPs, steel, timber-frame, log, bermed, domed. About the only type of construction I haven't been involved with is underground and straw-bale. If its on the edge, green or cool, I do it.
In addition to being a builder of near zero-energy homes, I'm also a licensed broker. I have sold OPH (other people's homes). I have dealt with short-sales, home inspections, reluctant buyers, squirrelly banks. I do BPOs for Fannie and Freddie, I am part of a RE investors group here in N. Texas. I have my feet firmly in four worlds (kinda hard physically, but I do!): RE, Custom home construction and Green technologies and Alternative energy.
And, to further muddy the waters, I'm a bit of a history buff, tear down and salvage old building materials, barn wood, roofing tin, architectural details through one of my companies: Texas Heritage Timber and Wood. We use a lot of these materials in NEW custom homes. The ultimate in green and recycling. Heres a pic of what old barnwood can do for a new home:
And for my current pet project relative to RE and history, check this out: BPO THIS!
I work with other agents to help them sell their listing faster AND for better money. We do that little trick with sunshine. Check it out: www.solarcertifiedhomes.com.
