Thank you again for visiting this small tribute to the photographic stylings of Ansel Adams. Being a novice photographer but inspired by Ansel Adam's amazing photography of our National Parks, I felt I wanted to at least attempt to show some of the beautiful natural wonders of Yosemite and to do it in the black and white format he became famous for.

Hope you enjoy this photo presentation. Turn your speakers up as there is music embedded in the presentation and starts when the show starts. . Note: To view this show in Full Screen mode, mouse over the bottom of the first picture as soon as the Show starts and you will see the Full Screen selection. This is a longer show than usual so be sure you get to the end where you will read a "Thank You for viewing this show".

The format for this show is a wonderful new resource I was introduced to by Michael Russer, Mr. Internet and I am introducing it here for the first time on ActiveRain. It is called SlideRocket and I will be telling you more about the amazing features of the great new resource through the soon to be announced new group called the ActiveRainPhotoBloggers. This group will share presentation resources as well as actual presentations and tutorials for those that are interested in creative PhotoBlogging.

This has got to be the best show I have ever seen!  You have feeling, soul, hard work and sweat that went into this and I'm sure there's some award out there that this show merits... a feature maybe?

You are quite the resourceful blogger who finds ways to enhance not just his post...but the picturesque scenery that adds to your thoughts.

Woohoo!!

William,

It's incredible!

If people only knew how Adams took these photos it would be even more impressive. Most were done with a huge view camera. He'd lug the equipment to the selected spot set it up focus often shifting the focal plane to correct for parallax and then wait! He'd sit with his camera ready and wait for the perfect light. If he though he'd missed the light he'd wait for 24 hours for it to return. It was rare he had more than two or three plates (pieces of film) with him earlier on because of the cost and later because of the weight.

In this age of digital cameras, instant gratification and multitasking, it's hard to know what is more impressive, his eye for natural beauty or his patience to get it right the first and last time!

Bill

Woo Hoo, Many thanks Sally. I wanted it perfect and to use this as a way to help inspire other potential photo bloggers of what we can acheive using our photos and as an introduction to SlideRocket. I have worked through this online program and it can provide a remarkable service for photo shows and even virtual tours for listings. I love RES and will be using SlideRocket as an additional resource that has a comprehensive aspect to it. Thank you so much and forgive my pride in the presentation but it was a long time coming and I was so pleased with the way it turned out.

Hi Bill, He is a total inspiration. His works speak of his brilliant imagination and to know what the values of specific light sources, be they direct or reflections. No one could compare to his efforts but I wanted to try to illustrate the magic he created in all of his works. He was and remians a true inspiration for the desire to capture just a tiny bit of the natural beauty that exists. We learn these things best by trying ourselves to emulate knowing the improbability of that effort but he would encourage us anyway.

Hi Hannah, How wonderful of you to drop by. Thank you very much for your great comment. Rock climbing is not me either, but I was certainly delighted to be able to capture these guys doing before I left. I had my 300mm lens and when I heard climbers were on El Capitain, I made a beeline to locate them. With that lens it made them easy to locate. The SlideRocket.com program is great for an sort of presentation. I use Real Estate Shows for up to 15 slides  but as yo can see, this show was with 44 slides and required more in the way of creating backgrounds. Because of the way I wanted to design the sow, I used various elements and I will tell you that the support staff for SlideRocket couldn't have done more to help me. There was a bug and I found it in one of the brand new elements they had just added and their engineers fixed in one day so I could present the show here in the Rain. With a respurce like this and others that other photobloggers know and will share, I think our new group when it launches will be miles ahead of other more basic photo blogging efforts.

I will most likely announce the new group "ActiveRainPhotoBlogger" next week, just a few more details I am working on and then it will be ready.

It truly a feast for the eye's to see the difference in a photo when it changes from color to black and white. Amazing.

I'm an East Coast girl, never been to the West Coast. However your photography and your Voice of San Diego Real Estate Blog has inspired me to add this to my list of "Things I Need Do and Places I Need To Visit."

Hi Peggy, You won't regret that trip. Not in the least. But be careful when come here, they don't want to leave, :-)  But I also know VA and it is truly one our most beautifUl states and you could just DO a wondeful job in photographing it and make your own shows. If you get set with ActiveRain in Localism, you will be tops. People love to know your area and it is SO rich in heritage. When you come west, it is like a different country, depending on where you go but we are blessed to live in a nation rich in resources and rich in all things to do with nature and our surroundings. Yosemite was part of a vacation. I had never been there and it was long past due. I went on to Lake Tahoe where I spent a delicious week discovering things I hadnever known were there. About 10 more trips there and I will know even better, :-). I got a new SLR camera for my birthday back in May and have been learning, practicing, learning, practicing, ever since. Now I want a another new, even more powerful camera. I thing I got bitten with all this. But I can tell you no matter the camera there is much to see and capture and when I announce the ActiveRainPhotoBlogger group, I hope you will start posting and there will be many that can help you learn whatever you need or want to know.

Good Morning Everyone,Thank you so much for all your very kind sentiments. I am so delighted that ActiveRain found this presentation worthy to feature. It virally gets the word out on two very important aspects about this show. The source for it , being SlideRocket that is utterly amazing in its features and the ease of sharing it. I chose to do a photo show as a way to make this more interesting. But this resource can be useful for any type of presentation from a listing that is enhances by adding in photos and information about the community it resides in, you can embed video, music, documents, etc. Any type of media, all in the same presentation. This resource can be used for Listing Presentations, City tours with maps, just about anything you can imagine would most likely be possible. The company offers free training on the program as well.  SlideRocket has really impressed me as viable resource for any type of presentation, including Photo Blogs.

That brings me to the next point. The creation of the ActiveRainPhotoBlogger group for posting and learning ways of using photos creatively in photoblogs. There are many resources for slide shows and presentations out there , some are free and some are not. What I hope will be the result of this group is a sort of continuing education on the creative aspects of making stories with photos. These can be embedded in posts or be the post all by themselves.

In the next few days I hope to launch this new group. There are some details that still have to worked out but I will be announcing it soon. Watch for the announcement  of the launch of the ActiveRainPhotoBlogger group later in the week.
