Beautiful Pacifica

We all know that there is fog in Pacifica, especially in summer. The city is called sometimes “The fog capital of California”. You sometime forget how beautiful this place is.  I was passing by to visit a client today and I was just amazed. It was a beautiful sunny day (first day of summer!) and not even a trace of fog.  I stopped by to take some pictures. See for yourself:

The city was formed through the consolidation of the communities of Edgemar, Pacific Manor, Westview (Pacific Highlands), Sharp Park, Fairway Park, Vallemar, Rockaway Beach, Linda Mar and Pedro Point in 1957.  You can read about pros and cons of living in Pacifica Click Here

Nothing beats a picture of the ocean coupled with the blue of the sky -- and not a single cloud.  Beautiful shot.  And the mountains are an added plus.  We don't have those here, but we do have the ocean.

Thank you. These were really a spur of the moment shots.  I tried a few times to take some pictures there, but fog can be a challenge. This is time - it was a perfect moment. I have seen ocean there many times, but this time it was special.

You are in a beautiful spot of the world yourself. I was in Charleston only once, unfortunately.

Artur, your pics are gorgeous.  My daughter recently moved to Pacifica and the photos she emails to me are breathtaking.  Thanks for sharing these with us.

Peggy, you welcome and thanks for your comment.  It was an amazing day (weather wise) and I tried to capture it. I am really glad you like it.

Believe it or not, both of those pictures are of my street! My house is right where that pier starts, and those houses in the other picture are hairdresser studios down the road. Thanks MOM!

Please pass my regardds to Beki. What a coincidence!

Also check my new pictures from Half Moon Bay and Princeton.  I took them yesterday and still didn't have time to write about it in the blog.  Here are links:

Hi Artur - I came over here after reading your guest post on Rita's blog and I've just followed your links to see more photos.  I have never been to California before but I'd really like to visit there sometime.

House prices aren't cheap though are they?  I was reading some of your other posts.  I'm guessing San Francisco is mega expensive.

Hi Cath,

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I really appreciate it. Just that you know, Pacifica is one of the foggiest place in the Bay Area (200 days of fog per year). I took these pictures in June and that' usually time of the heavy fog. It was just a different day. The best weather in the Bay Area is during the Indian summer.  This week is absolutely gorgeous, sunny 80-90 degrees.

Bay Area is expensive and the effects of the crisis are different for different parts of the Bay Area, but also different parts of cities. For example the Peninsula (the area from San Francisco to Palo Alto) has places were prices are still moving up and places where they dropped significantly.  The same in San Francisco.  Very visibly the gap between rich and poor is rapidly increasing. So, it is not a bad time to move in to the Bay Area, but one have to be careful as in many places prices are still going down.  Please let me know if you would like me to present to you different parts of the Bay Area and I would be happy to do so.  Most importantly, you have to come to visit.  I would be happy to be your tour guy. It is a wonderful place to live.  Important to remember are 10s of micro-climates. I live in Burlingame and during a 15 mile trip to San Francisco, I might be passing thru three different "climate zones".  You have several different zones in the City as well. Thanks again for stopping buy.

Hi Cath,

I am totally puzzled by disappearance of Rita's Digest post.  I talked to Rita, but I simply do not understand her explanation.  Could you shed some light, please? I would really appreciate.
