One of my fave bloggers, Matt Gosselin, author of the book "My Blue Goose," just posted an inspiring vlog on his blogsite, 'Blog of Geese' that talks about the tendency in our current market for agents to sit back and wait for things to change. In other words, become comfortable and complacent, while other more agressive enterprising agents go out and find/capture the business.

Now is definitely not the time to hold back or become hesitant in our marketing efforts. Now more than ever, we need to be relentless and passionate in all that we do, and clearly distinguish ourselves from the masses!

Rich, thanks for providing this vlog by Matt. At first I thought he was leading into agents sharing what they think will happen with the 1st Time Home Buyer Credit (don't ask me why I thought that...). But then, as he talked, I got that it's the simplicity of keeping local people informed of what the market is doing in their neighborhood. Something we should do at least yearly. Anyhoo...vlog triggered my thinking, and for that I am always grateful.

So many agents have been hiding... not talking to their past clients and sphere... because they don't know how to be positive about the market.   There is no greater time than NOW to be connecting with people on a personal level.. be genuine, show them that you care...  AND make it obvious that you are still in the market helping people buy and sell real estate!  Thanks Rich for sharing the video!

Matt's message is right on point.  It is amazing the number of agents who still don't have a strategy to reach their target market or even worse don't have a clue who their target market it is.  Thanks for sharing the reminder.

Hi Rich!
Thanks for sharing...Matt is right on! I am amazed how many agents have resigned themselves that this is a bad market. As a pin I was given says "I hear there is a recession...I am not participating."  Now is a great time to shine, because many are getting tarnished out there!

Great post Rich. Good to see other NW agents having a positive outlook, not to mention a proactive outlook on our market!

Rich,  as each month goes by a number of Agents are leaving the business, now you have to ask yourself, is this good for the business.  We have to say yes, many only stay when times are good.

I'm fighting to be able to do it... and it isn't easy... but I know that in the long run it is the right path.
