Myrl, I enjoy your photos.  Although I would not be inclined to republish this, it's interesting to see other parts of the country from where I am situated in Mayland.

Myrl, I love the rustic feel of this place...especially the clapboard building and facade. Thanks for sharing!

Interesting photo.  Did they have Visa and Mastercard back in the day?  :)

Myrl - Great photo. I'd love to take a trip back in time and see the place as it was a century ago.

Myrl, I went to one of these old Western towns in Arizona and loved it!  I found it so unique and enjoyed this picture very much.  (I think it was called Jerome, I'm not sure as a senior moment has just set in :)

Myrl,

Interesting the way they seemed to make their store right in the hillside. Pretty streetscape. :)

Looks like a movie set I'm waiting for a cowboy to come out.

I just love that neon "OPEN" sign all lit up against the weather beaten wood facade.  Thanks for sharing this with us, Myrl.

Hi Myrl,

What a wonderful photo and am I right in thinking this is Goldfield in Arizona? I just love the old cowboy towns and I wonder if you are familiar with the Fort Worth Stockyards here in Texas. That's a favorite place of mine for a weekend away.

Wanda - I snapped this picture in Eureka Nevada, along Highway 50.  Visiting the town is like stepping back in time.

Jane - I think the MasterCard sign may have been a more recent addition.

Paul - Eureka, Nevada - Probably one of the more rustic little towns I've visited.

John - I had that feeling as I was walking through the little town too. . .Somehow, I could hear guns blazing:-)

Kathy - Me too!  I could almost see the Butch Cassidy:-)

Yvette and Dennis - Lots of antiques were inside.

Carole - Jerome is a great little western town.  This town, Eureka, is located in Eastern Nevada.

Debi - I'll bet you could really take some neat pictures in a place like that.  One of the signs posted at one end of town, is a handpainted sign in a yard that says, "Speed Trap."

Jim and Maria - There are a series of stores, and store fronts in Eureka.  There's an old rustic looking diner.  It's a neat place to spend a few hours.

Andrea - Eureka, Nevada is a few hundred miles from my home.  I think this was the first time I have been to it.

Steve - I thought that was interesting too!

Terry - That whole town would make a GREAT movie set.

Sharon - I think they need to change that sign. . .It's incongruent:-)

Steve - I think I had better put on my glasses. . .For a minute there I thought you had written "Goldfish" Arizona:-)  No, the location is actually Eureka in Eastern Nevada, along Highway 50.

Hi Myrl,

I'm not familiar with Eureka but what a great name.  Isn't that what Archimedes said when he got in the bath???

Maybe the West was not necessarily won there because I was not there at the time!
