Now I'm not a complainer I love chores...for one thing it means Its a home project not an office emergency.I tootled off to Home Depot purchased some insulation and plywood, and turned around to get the winterizing stabilize for the gas machines (almost left behind). It was a nice day not a care in the world. Trying to finish an Art Studio over the garage for my wife.

This is the view from the garage studio... Recently Named Birch Hollow  I hope she likes the place.

Steve Loynd Birch Hollow

Now for the rest of the story...I was in and out of the house in the process of finding tools

After hours of eating insulation and moving splitter, and chipper, and mowers oh my. I had had enough, heading for the back door I realized sometime during the day the back door remained open. We have (or) had cats?! I was shaken by fear - for two reasons #1 cats are food for the things that go bump in the night around here and #2 my wife loves me but I wouldn't be missed as much as the cats..if we all went missing.

Clementine our Female cat (purple collar) wearing the jewelery , and Thor (named by a male child upon cat acquisition)...Took a stroll today. It wasn't exactly an escape because the warden turn his back  and whats a cat to do open door equal freedom. All ended well, these explorers of the wild, realized soon enough the Food served in dishes near a warm fireplace was indoor. I figure they were out for 3 hours, and they never go out.

I will tell the wife as we have no secrets, but I must admit I would have been more than a little scared if the wife got home before the great orange hunters returned.

Chases...and chores time for a drink Cheers!

Isn't it a bummer when it takes more work to be at home than it does to be out with buyers?

You are REALLY lucky you found them! I know how I am with my feline friends and if my honey lost our kitties.....

I am sure they had a GREAT time exploring the wild! But cats usually are pretty smart and know where their next meal is coming from. It certainly is too much work to hunt it down! They may miss their morning, mid morning, early afternon, afternoon, late afternoon or evening nap!

Steve...I find that I always work harder when I am at home. As for the cats...I love ourdoor cats. But indoor cats made me a lot of money for years.  If you enjoy them...do what fits you.

Brian...There was a beverage near by during the writing of this post, I even started dinner, to soften the lost cats, glad their back because I'm a bad cook.

Steve - How wonderful that you are building an art studio for your wife. However, if YOU had been responsible for the disappearance of the "orange hunters," your efforts would have been an exercise in futility. You were teetering dangerously toward a life in the dog house. ;-)

Looks like they know they have it easy and don't plan on escaping anytime soon.

Terry & Bonnie Cats are like kids, they are always looking to sneak away...but return to warmth and food when they figure out home is the place to be.

I cant keep my Persian in this time of year. She goes in cycles of interest in the outdoors. Summer time is lazy cat time. Cool weather is adventure time.

Laura...When I was a child we had cats that came and went...but lived in a suburban setting. Now we see Coyote, fox, and fisher cats in our yard routinely. These guys way think about exploring but they look like snacks to the bigger outdoor creatures we have around.

Steve - Remember "All's well that end's well" and that is what truly matters at the end of the day.

I bet next time the "Honey Do" list will be much shorter !

Hi Steve,

What an awesome view from your wife's art studio!  Absolutely beautiful!  Most indoor cat's when they have a chance to go outside of their home, love to explore the great outdoors.  I'm glad that your great orange hunters became hungry after a few hours and came back home safely.

Chris... I was petrified, that they were lost for good and I would be living over the garage when the wife came home.
