SweetenerAre You The Real Deal Or Just Close?

In our real estate profession and client interactions it is very beneficial to be a person that does what they say they will do. It not only follows the tenet of obedience to a prinicipal it makes you a genuine person.

Genuineness in people seems to be dying out. Too many people wear too many faces depending on whom they are meeting with. If you are the same with everyone it doesn't take near as much energy, and is much more intellectually honest.

Don't ALMOST be sweet as in Splenda. Be sugary sweet to everyone and they know that they will see that side of you ALL the time. Being genuine is a character trait that is much needed in our world. What you see is what you get, is a GOOD THING!!

Gary, I love real people.  I have come to an age when I totally know when someone has two personalities.  I have chosen to surround myself with real people.  Real people make things happen effortlessly.  Thanks for the post!

Gary.. Genuine people are far and few between.. alot of them put up walls first before they open up.  With me it's simple.. what you see is what you get... I have no time for games.  Life is too short.

BTW.. I love the new picture Gary.

I like your new picture!  Yeah...who wants to 'look over their shoulder' for all the puffing up...only to be nothing as they appeared.

Gary, Being genuine is so important I believe, just as you stated.  In our business it can be so hard to build trust if the consumer has suffered through a bad experience with another agent.  Once they see we are genuine, it makes our jobs much easier :)  Have a great week my friend!

Gary, great analogy, and I agree that being genuine is a trait that we should all adopt.  You're right it is becoming a thing of the past.

Hi Gary: Always telling the truth means you never have to remember what you said. And at my age, I forget half of what I say, so honesty is definitely a good practice to follow.

It is a trait that separates me and yet I am responsive to my clients the way they want to be treated. I don't play games, what you see is what you get and I think that makes people feel comfortable with me.

Gary - I don't think all sugary sweet people are truly genuine. I just live by the motto - just be yourself.  Ona scale from 1-10 with 10 being the most sugary, I am probably around a 7-8 and I think most people are comfortable with that, probably anything more than that makes people suspicious.

Hi Gary... I think being genuine is crucuially important in real estate and in life.  That character trait is what works to establish trust and honest rapport with others.  I am suspicious of anyone who is too sugery, whether real sugar or artificially sweet!
