These are my Top 40 Resources for Real Estate Industry Information and Education
Most of my reading hours are spent right here on ActiveRain. Your Blogs and Posts. Let's face it, one could sit at their computer ALL DAY everyday, and never run out of great material to read and learn from AR members. There is more information, education, inspiration, and entertainment here than you could consume in a lifetime. However, from time to time, I like to head out onto the Blogosphere SUPER-HIGHWAY and explore what else is out there.
When I first started working here at AR, I was reading folks like Seth Godin, The Scobelizer, Chris Brogan, and Guy Kawasaki. Then I discovered other great sites and resources like GeekEstateBlog, where I soon became a contributing author. The list kept growing over time. Now it has grown so large that I barely have enough hours in the day (or night) to try and keep up with all the great content that's available out there. I still try, but my efforts seem futile.
In the spirit of "Paying It Forward" I'm sharing some of these great writers, Blogs, and sites with all of you. The information and education available out there is very powerful and useful if you know where to find it, learn how to use it, and then apply it.
Here are my TOP 40 Favorite Blogs, Sites, Writers and Resources:
I'm sharing this to try and "Pay it forward" to these sites and writers for all the information and education they've continued to provide me over the years. And to "you" for all that you have shared and contributed here as well. That's what it's all about, people Paying-It-Forward, so thank you. I've created my ALLTOP, where these sites and authors can be accessed from a single page. You can also create your own ALLTOP FAVS page to be shared.
So for those of you who ask me all the time,"Brad, Do You ever sleep" and "Where do you come up with all this stuff?" Well now my secrets have been revealed. Yes I do, and now you know. :-) The key is time management...and of course... a little speed reading. lol~
Great list Brad - we seem to visit many of the same sites and love some of the same readers but found a few more from your list that I will explore. I love AllTop and have my AR blog appearing on that site but honestly didn't realize I could categorize my favs there - another thing "to do." Only blog you're missing is mine - LOL - just teasing of course - hopefully I fall into the AR category. Happy Reading - I simply don't know how you do it! ~Anne Marie
Barb - this is probably the most valuable posts I have ever put up on AR. The sources and information available from these sites and authors is absolutely priceless, at least to me. Thanks. :-)
Hi Brad~ This is one awesome list!! I think I have a most on my Google Reader..but there are a few I need to read!! Great presentation of all the juicy stuff..of course I follow you too..You are one of my top RE Tech resources:) Great job!
Brad, I need to hire someone to sell real estate for me so I can sit and read your blog 24/7. The info is invaluable. Bookmarking you is pointless...just start at day one and read forward....
Brad..... ok, I am yelling here...."TIME MANAGEMENT??????" Are you able to warp time so that you have 48 hours in a day???? I have bookmarked this post, but there is just no way I could ever keep up. I think you have become walking computer (and I agree with TLW - there is no way you sleep). And I sincerely appreciate everything you post here on AR - ActiveRain is my first source for info.
Brad- I have the same thoughts Christine (above) does. . . how do you fit 48 hours of what you do in a 24 hour day??? I feel like I'm a sponge trying to absorb all of this great info. I know that when I see a "Brad" post, I'm going to learn something new and fun! So greatly appreciated.
Brad-It's official. You must NEVER sleep. Wow. What a great list. Thank you thank you for sharing it with us. Off to buy a case of Red Bull so I can keep up with your reading, lol.
Brad, Am I blind, or has the bookmark button disappeared from your post? I'm wanting to bookmark this so when the Red Bull kicks in I can read a weeks worth of goodies in a night, LOL.
WOW, This is awesome and very helpful. I copied all these links and though I have ready many of these before, there is so much more to be gleaned from the best. Once again Brad, thank you for your excellent council and guidance and I hope you realize how much you are appreciated!
This list is very much appreciated Brad! This with the information from RainCamp will keep me busy and blogging with ActiveRain for months...years to come.
Brad - I subscribe to a bunch of these, but not all. This is a great list but there is no way to actually keep up with all this (one of my faves is 1000Watt Consulting - Marc is a great presenter, too, BTW). I may pick a few to add to the list, though. As always, your willingness to share is always appreciated.
Brad - don't know whether to thank you or not for this great list. I was already short several hours in the day before this list trying to keep up with everything and along you come with another truckload. How do you manage it all in just 24 hours?
Hi Brad - Thanks for all of the great sites to read. Can you make the days longer for us so we have time for family, fun, working, ActiveRain AND all of the sites you listed? Please??? :)
There are hundreds of great Blogs and Informational/Educational sites out there, these were just my Top 40. Good thing I didn't put all 300+ sites I subscribe to, then no one would believe me that I really do sleep. haha~ One thing I know for sure, that speed reading and typing course are really starting to pay off for me! lol~ (Huge Smile!)
BTW - I LOVE the variety of responses......
"Brad - Thanks for more technical information to read. You can never have too much."
"TOO MUCH TOO MUCH WAY TOO MANY PLACES to keep up with. It makes me wanna scream!!"
"Brad. I'm not sure you'll ever know just how valuable this information is to the likes of me:)"
"This is my all time favorite post to bookmark. I am going to send it along to everyone on our team."
they're all great,.....thanks to each and everyone of you. :-)
Fellow rainers, just for the record, I don't read each of these writers and sites everyday, that would be humanly impossible (and still have a life) but I do use google reader, RSS feeds, MyBlogLog, Alltop and Twitter to catch what I can, when I can. Remember, this is a couple years worth of shared findings and discoveries. That's why I said in this post, "I still try, but my efforts seem futile."
I hope you too can find a way or a "time management plan" that works best for you.
Believe it or not, it's time for me to hit the hay, yes, I do sleep! haha~ Goodnight. :-))
Brad - I'm bookmarking this list to share with the students in my Social Media class. I agree - I could never know the things I know to be able to teach it if I weren't aggregating so many others' awesome material! Thanks for the info!
I am amazed! Most of my reading is done right here on AR. I'm excited to have this list. I'm pasting the links into a note to put on my desktop for reading.
Thank you so very much for sharing.
You're THE one of the greatest! (have to be politically correct, you know...) ☺
I have become a huger fan of Patrick Kitano and Kevin Boer at Domus Consulting. They have a new package of 150 webinars for $149 a year. What I like about them is that the training is comprehensive, with special attention put to Twitter, but also blogging, Facebook, using resources like Yelp, etc.
Ok, I'm awake... obviously my snoring woke TLW. lol~
Andrew - I have seen and heard of Woopra, thanks for mentioning it. I'll have to revisit the site, it's been quite a while.
Steve - very funny. I could have listed "300" easily just from that one site! :)
Joe - Pat and Kevin are awesome. I have been reading TRE and Domus for quite some time. I even had the privilege of doing some webinars with them. They are both very knowledgeable about social media, marketing, and networking using today's technology and tools.
Perrie - time management? Now there's a great idea for my next post! I think I'll do it.... as soon as I can find the time.. lol~
Thanks for all of these great resources! I am so thankful we have great folks like you and the AR crew to keep us up on the lastest and greatest out in cyberspace! I appreciate this information!!!
Hey Brad: I had hoped to see my homebuying site on that list because I write articles for agents, too; just not as dedicated as the real estate business guide at About.com. I also see the Bloodhound Blog is missing. I routinely read that blog not only for entertainment but for great info. Check it out.
Rebecca - glad to hear you are recovering, I hope it's a fast and full recovery for you.
On another note: What a great example of "time management!" I know you'll enjoy reading and learning from many of these sites and writers. I have already come up with another great idea for a post just from checking my Google Reader this morning.
Hi Brad,
There isn't anyone who pays it forward like you do! I've been crusing around the links on this post for over an hour now, actually listening to blog radio on my other computer too. So much great info out there! THANKS!!!
Jay - I'm honored and humbled that you would stop by to say that, thank you.
I also want to say thanks for all that you have shared and contributed to the AR network and to Social Media and Networking in general. You have been a top resource of mine for information and education for as long as I can remember. K
eep up the awesome job you're doing and thanks again. :-)
Thanks Brad! It's nice to know that many of the blogs I visit are on your list! I'm so glad I am on the right path! And some new ones I haven't been visiting. Thanks for telling me about them! You're always a wealth of information! Thanks for sharing! ~Nyssa
Brad you are so right, I'm always on AR and google researching items. Keep learning and sharing, I'm going to re-blog this for Connecticut...Thanks for the great links.
