Last week I was having a conversation with a friend who is currently living in Turkey. She is worried about sending gifts home for the holidays without them being broken. Like me she is concerned with environmental issues and the impact that our everyday decisions have on Mother Earth’s well-being.

i guess you'd want to not use the 'buttery' kind - because the butter does go rancid - but interesting idea!

Using popping corn for packing fragile items is a terrible idea for 2 reasons:

1)  Compression....if the shipped items have any weight to them the popcorn will compress and this allows shifting of the contents, the number one cause of freight claims

 

2)  Insects....'nuff said

Just use the foam packing peanuts and then reuse them to limit your impact on the Earth.
