I can not believe these photos are in our local MLS. Now I am not going to mention the agent or the property.

I do think that if this is the best you can do, you need to hire a photographer. In fact agents if this is the best you can do, call me and I will take some better photos for you at no charge….

Bad MLS photo

These photos was posted directly from our local MLS with no touchups…

I know that Charlottesville Real Estate agents are under the gun these days. But lets put our best foot forward when trying to sell a property.

Doing the best we can for our clients is so important in this market!

NOTE: These are just my opinions and I want to re-iterate that I am not pointing fingers and that I am not mentioning the agent or the property.

The get er done agent surfaces again. Yes they lurk in every MLS around the nation. Im wondering if they are licensed in all these states?

I have to agree. There is no excuse for posting such terrible pictures. Another pet peeve of mine is a listing with one photo, normally taken too far away to get any details. We are supposed to be professionals. Let's act like it.

Charles,

I had to check and see whether I had my glasses on. Too funny.

Hi Charles,

It is amazing the photos I see in the MLS and wonder if the seller ever sees these gems! We are allowed 25 photos now and I still see some listings up with 5 pictures..and they are wondering why their houses are not selling!!

Hi Charles,distorted bathroom photo

It's happening here as well. This is what I've been seeing a lot of lately.

It's so important for Realtors to invest in a good little camera and take the time to do the job right. When the market cools and they need to show thier successful SOLD Listings as proof they can get the job done. I'm not sure many sellers would put up with having such a sloppy presentation of thier biggest asset!

This is not unique to your MLS system.  MLS systems throughout the country are full of poor quality and some real bad images.  My favorites are the shots of one small corner or as someone else said, a toilet.  Okay, I get that you want to show off a nice bathroom but just the toilet is not gonna do it.

Wow, those are bad pix...hope the seller didn't see them too!  Yikes!

I can't believe the Sellers don't check-out their listings on the net.  If they did, I'm sure the agent would have "hell to pay" for their sloppiness!

It is so sad that they can't spend  a few seconds looking at the finished product to see how silly it makes them look.

I just started posting a series "Lazy agent of the week" - These would definitely qualify

You're lucky there are pictures at all.  With so many foreclosure listings in our MLS, we usually get a picture of the front of the house and nothing else.

Another reason why some sell more properties than others!

Charles - one thing that really irritates me is all the different sizes on the different sites remembering what size looks good and which site it belongs to can be frustrating.

But what is really frustrating is when a site forces, or squeezes and distorts, the reformating of your picture to conform to their standards.

I try to teach agents how to take better photos.  A few things I say is, "Turn off the flash and use a tripod."  That's assuming they have actually gotten out of the car to take the photo of the listing.  Another tip I give is, "Take lots of photos, memory is cheap."  But there is one more thing I need to add, "Only upload the GOOD photos."

Charles, I'm sorry to say it is no different here in most cases.  I would be horrified to put my name on something like that!  I often wonder if they want to SELL a home or stop people from seeing it.

They are everywhere! Amazing to me that someone doesn't care more than that as they "represent" the seller. They do make for an entertaining slide show though :)

Hey, Charles. For a second there, I thought that I lost my contacts. What are they thinking? Yeah, the photos are perfect and they are certainly going to help sell the home. Not. Thanks for sharing, Jim
