9 Comments on Microsoft retail store copies Apple store without shame
Peter, I think my next computer is going to be a MAC.
Microsoft has been playing catch up to "match Apple" for years. This is not a surprise.
Pocono: Everyone should buy a mac simply because it is years ahead of anyone. Yes, you pay $200 more for their laptop, but you get SO much for that small premium. I never understood people who want to save $200 and be stuck with garbage that they'll have to replace in a years time when they could pay a could hundred more for a superior machine that will last them many years. I still have a Powerbook 12" that I bought in 2003. That's six years. In technology years, that's ancient. But guess what--it still runs great and I never yet had one virus. Honestly. Can you say that about the PCs out there? Anyway, I am glad you are getting a mac. Anyone of their computers are good.
Dave: It's one thing to play catch up; it's another to just copy everything to the letter.
Peter, I sure would like to switch to Mac. We have some issues with our local Board running Mac. Hopefully that will change. Too many people are switching.
Many of Microsoft's features and products over the years have been originally created by someone else. In many cases, they have the cash to simply buy out the company and remarket under their own name.
Peter,
I use both.
For realtors, traditionally there has been "no access" to the MLS through TREB. If you go to an actual Apple store they can show you how to do it. There's a little trick.
Brian
Hi Brian: Do you by chance know this trick? Please share.
Peter,
No, I don't.
The household computer is a Mac.
I use a PC.
However, there are people at the Apple Store who demonstrated access to TREB. I apologize, I don't know it.
For price comparison purposes, I had checked at both Best Buy and Future Shop. In neither case, did their sales staff know what to do.
Try the Apple Store at Sherway Gardens, they certainly know. And, it was quite simple just one or two clicks.
Sorry, I'm not very "techie".
Brian
