Has the market hit rock bottom? This is the primary question asked of Realtors® and others involved in the industry. Unfortunately, the honest answer is that no one can predict the bottom. As you can see from the charts above, the number of homes sold has steadily increased throughout the year and in most counties has surpassed the number of homes sold at this point last year. Interestingly, the slow and steady rise of homes sold this year as opposed the typical sharp increase and decrease coinciding with the beginning and ending of summer may be due in part to the 1st time home buyer tax credit and seems to be contributing to growing stability in the market.
