No room for guardrails, just drive, don't look, and don't meet an oncoming car.  No flats allowed.

Oops, Maui-style traffic jam!  The car on the right is backing up as there is no room to pass on this cliffside road.

 Aloha!

Lol this reminds me of the problems I face driving in Jamaican countryside!!! Everyone was stubborn, no one wanted to back up though!!!

Hi Monique.  I used to go to Jamaica often when I lived on the East Coast.  Isn't it a fun place?  Of course there is the added complexity of driving on the left side of the road and few places to buy a replacement tire when you blow one out on their awful roads.

Bonjour!

Richard,

I've got to come visit Hawaii!  It's the only state I haven't yet visited.

Mike- That's awsome if you have been to all the other states.  One more and you're complete!

Richard, with nowhere to go, I guess you have to be careful going around blind corners. I'm sure it's a very picturesque trip.  Thanks for sharing!

I've always wanted to go. Perhaps after the kids are out of school. My wife has been, several years ago. Of course she loved it.

Sylvia & John- It makes for a great vacation.  I know because I did it yearly for 15 years before moving here.

Richard,

The right car is backing UP!  I would not like a road like that.

Hi Ann.  I must admit I was a little tense myself since I don't like heights.  Fortunately I only had to back up once and it was only a short distance.

Aloha from Hawaii. Since making the move from an area where Winter meant it was cold and snowy to one where it means rains sometimes last 15 minutes instead of 5, I've made other changes as well including moving from an engineering management position to a real estate professional. I enjoy change and both have been good. I use my blog to discuss most anything relevant to the Hawaii real estate market and my new profession including tips, local information, Hawaiian lifestyle, and embracing change.
