When the children come into the gym they will receive a goodie bag.  They will have fun, create crafts, and play games... Pin the Tail on the Cat for one, ring toss, are two that I know of, with a whole bunch of other games geared to Halloween.

Refreshments will be served in the lobby, and Mr. Gym will be there playing children's songs.

No registration necessary.  Just COME-ON-DOWN!!!

Pumpkin parties are a great way to bring in the halloween holiday cheer. I always found trying to get creative with carvings with my children was always fun.

I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!

Are they going to have the world record holder for biggest pumpkin there, Valerie?  Just wondering if you're tying in the Tuesday Trivia with this post.

Michael...

I think for the town to put on this event without cost to the parents is a BIG plus.  The children are save, and can have fun at the same time.

This type of party is so common. It gets everyone together in light, and keeps some of the little kids off of the streets

Heather.. I never thought of that.  I guess I am just in a fall/halloween/Thanksgiving mood.

Ed.. Exactly.  We never had these when I was going up. But then again there wasn't the same amount of concern for the well-being of children either.  I guess I am dating myself.. LOL.

VALERIE: I agree today this is a safe way to let the children have a fun Halloween without endangering their lives. I, too, remember when it was safe to go door to door in your own neighborhood and trick or treat. Now the world has changed that it is no longer something a parent wants to do. More and more cities and towns are having these Halloween parties.

Valerie, I don't remember events like this being available when my kids were that age.  This would have been something that they would have enjoyed doing.

This looks like a lot of fun.  I am ready to go right out and get a costume so I can attend some of these pumpkin festivities.

Kathleen... It is sad, to me, that my children can't experience, or understand the freedoms we had.. and it wasn't that long ago... at least for me.  I remember when I rode my bike without a helmet, rode in a car with no seatbelts.  I turned out OK.. LOL. Or so *I* think. LOL.

George.. Now that I have children you would think they'd want to go.  But they too, missed out on it.  My children are now too old... neither one is trick or treating.. they want to stay home and give out candy.

Kristin... It was funny that night.  We were playing the game *quarters* with Franc.  We are all watching the show, and no one came up with that name until I mentioned it.  We all laughed, and we have never referred to that game again as *quarters*... years later we still get a chuckle over   Franc-in-Stein
