Valspar paint velums for Home StagingHave you seen this?  It may not be new to you, but it was definitely new to me, so it must be new to some ~ so I have to share!

I found them at my local Hardware Store in the paint section offered for FREE from Valspar Paints.  They are clear velums with various neutral room decors, and you simply slide your paint chips behind the different areas to show how the colors will work together in different spaces.

Not as good as virtual painting but fast and easy and much more convincing to the eye when you don't have your laptop or programs handy with you when meeting clients.

I found them to be particularly handy just this past week when meeting with an young couple who just bought their first home and gutted EVERYTHING!  It's hard to visualize paint colors when you're wearing a dust mask and walls are coming down.  These really helped my clients see how paint colors in different rooms will effect the mood and feel of the house, as well as picking out accent colors without the worry of choosing the wrong colors.

Connie, I haven't seen those either but plan to make a trip to the hardware store to look for them.  This will be a handy tool to add to my staging bag.  Thanks for enlightening us!

Thanks for sharing this tip. I will have to forward this tidbit to one of my strategic partners who happens to be a certified home stager.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one that these were "new to", Judy.  I added a few of each to my Staging bag as well.

Forward away, James! Thanks for helping to Stage It Forward =)

I can't wait to go to Lowe's and get some of these.   Valspar is my paint of choice and Lowe's is where I get it

Connie- thanks for sharing this because I'd never heard of the clear velum's.  What a wonderful idea.  I too will add it to my staging bag.

Thanks everyone for commenting! I'm glad to see that I wasn't behind the ball and that I was able to share something new for everyone.  I got mine at Do It Center, but I'm sure you can find them where ever Valspar paints are sold.

Terrific tool.  How right you are, we are not always behind a desk or with laptop.  Easy to use and effective.  I love the Sherwin Williams online version but again, am not always at a computer.  Thanks for the info.

Great tool, except I have found that they can be iffy for actually choosing a specific color... the color on the screen always looks very different of the paint chips...  which personally make me sceptical about choosing certain colors.  It's definately a great tool for a rough idea though

Thanks, Gene ~ only trying to help any way I can ;D

Which is exactly my point, Terrylynn! We're NOT always behind our computer (shocking, I know) and when we are at a client's house, we might be able to have internet access.  I ut two of each of these in my Staging bags for myself and my Assistant.

Crystal ~ they do seem to matte or "wash out" the true color slightly.  But when showing a client how colors can work together in getting a dramatic effect, they definitely help.

You're welcome, Rita!

You would think that we would run into each other more often than we do, Patti! Miss you! xo
