Or.......How do I reach out and market myself to my current customers and prospects through my Blog? ....Gee I caught this contest right in the nick of time! Another one of Bob Stewart's Doozies! :-                 Check it out.......Using Your Blog To Enhance Existing Relationships.

The challenge is to stay top-of-mind with former clients, so that when there is a need, I'm the one that gets the call. So blogging is the perfect way to move beyond the usual free calendars, magnetic stickers and cookie-cutter "home tips".

Unless I can provide specific value to the specific people in my network, the likelihood is that when they come across a lead, they won't pass it on to me - assuming they even remember my name! :-)

The end-goal of networking is to connect, and then ultimately benefit from, these individual relationships. So it's all about "Give to get!"

As I Write my posts I think about which of my client's the post might be of interest to? It can be as simple as writing, "Pat, thought this would be of interest." They appreciate it because it clearly isn't a bulk communication or a mail-merge, and I was thinking of them as individuals.  I like the idea that I might be adding value to their day!

What else do I do with and through myBlog to Enhance my Existing Relationships?

*I have a link to my Active Rain Blog on my Business Cards; and my signature at the end of all my e-mails...this way my Current customers and Prospects  can keep tabs on me by following my Blog!

*I have all my Posts Twittered and on Facebook - this way I'm going to them without them having to come to me!

*My "Blog Tab" on my Website Opens Up to my Active Rain blog;

*I keep my family and friends updated about the events in my life - whether it be my Daughter's college experiences or upcoming pro fights - through my blog.  Each time they see one of my posts - attached to it is my 'real estate services' invitation!  Now which one of us hasn't had a friend or relative use another Realtor - because they forgot this was what you did for a living? - well its another Warm Reminder!

*Who doesn't have a hour - a day - a weekend - when they don't know what to do with themselves? I posted a series of Things to Do in Chilliwack - that to date continues to be one of my greatest 'hit' machines.  I like to have them associate me with 'fun' times and as a 'go to source' for more then just Real Estate!

Liz,

Like you, I was glad to see that challenge. I had been doing that so it was not such a tough job to come up with examples.

Hi Liz...I'm trying to work my way through all of these great posts and I'm glad I got to read yours.  I like the idea of writing a list of things to do in the area.  That is one tip I'm going to take.

Thanks,

Kate
