A little history of the Natchez Trace, based on information located at wikipedia

A 440-mile-long path extending from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee,. It was a traditional Native American trail and was later also used by early European explorers as both a trade and transit route in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Today, the trail has been commemorated by the 444-mile-long Natchez Trace Parkway, which follows the approximate path of the trace.^[1] The trail itself has a long and rich history, filled with brave explorers, dastardly outlaws and daring settlers. Parts of the original trail are still accessible

Kathryn - I agreee with you. This is a really inviting scene.

The trees are perfect for this picture. This looks like a Merrill Osborne shot, and know he lives close to the Natchez Trace.

It is beautiful

I was told that Andrew Jackson (Old Hickory) marched his troops back from the Battle of New Orleans along this trail. The picture is great Larry and reminds me of the Robert Frost poem, "The Road Not Taken".

The Natchez Trace is one of the few places that our Federal Government spent money wisely. It's really beautiful.
