Wake Forest NC Calendar of EventsWow - this is THE week!  The official "Let's Celebrate Halloween" and start the fall festivals!  This week in Wake Forest NC has EVERYTHING!  There is a Business Expo on the calendar, Halloween festivities, the ever-popular Farmer's Market, a Spelling Bee, Fall Festival and SO MUCH MORE!

Firing Range Training
Monday, Oct. 26; 1 pm - 9 pm
Police Department Firing Range, behind Flaherty Park Community Center
Residents in the area are advised that the Wake Forest Police Department will conduct firing range training at the police department firing range, located behind the Flaherty Park Community Center. The firing range is utilized by Wake Forest Police officers who require instruction and practice in order to obtain current certification in the use of firearms. This certification is required in order for the officer to fulfill his/her duties for the Wake Forest Police Department. www.wakeforestnc.gov/residents/police_firingrange.aspx 


Jazz Night Out

Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Spelling Bee
Thursday, Oct. 29; 6 pm
The Forks Cafeteria

Every penny raised goes into our local schools in the form of teacher grants. You can help us reach our goal by sponsoring a business or school team for $250 or buying a word back to keep your favorite team in the game for $25. Mail donations to the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce at 350 S. White St., Wake Forest, NC 27587 or contact Carolyn Furr at (919) 556-1519.


Fall Festival
Friday, Oct. 30; 7 pm - 9 pm
North Raleigh Church of Christ, Corner of Falls of Neuse and I-540

Join our free fall festival! Dinner is provided. Enjoy games, crafts, trunk-and-treat, hayrides, and more! Bring your carved pumpkin for our Pumpkin Carving Contest. Enjoy a Hay Bale Toss from 7 pm until 8 pm and a Lumberjack Contest for people 15 and older at 8:05 pm. (919) 562-7875


Trick or Treat at the Wake Forest Farmers' Market
Saturday, Oct. 31; 8 am - Noon
Downtown Wake Forest - Municipal Parking Lot, 110 S. White St.
Bring the kids out to the Farmers' Market to enjoy a safe and fun Halloween experience. Children of all ages are invited. Children dressed in costume will receive a healthy and fun "treat" as parents shop for locally grown and produced fall vegetables, mums, cakes, breads, honey, jams and jelly, cheese, meats, candles, soaps, and much more. The Farmers' Market is open from 8 am to noon every Saturday from April through November. www.wakeforestmarket.org

I bet it is a great time in Wake Forest during Halloween. My son has to hide his candy for the next two weeks so I don't eat all his Reese's peanut butter cups.
