If You Are Going to Mail Something, Why Not Make it Fun?

Yesterday I talked about handwritten cards vs. computer generated card services in a post titled There Is No Substitute for Personal Contact.  And in my opinion, if you are going to send out something personal and handwritten, why use the same old stamp that everyone else uses?  Not that I have problems with the Liberty Bell or the American Flag

When I go to the post office, I ask them for something colorful or new.  The summer was filled with Simpsons stamps and Lighthouses.  The newsletters being sent out this month have a Gary Cooper stamp.  They have a good chance of standing out in the mail, don't you think?

Anything you can do to show you put some thought into your mail, is a good thing.  And sticking a Bart Simpson stamp on a personal note is just one more way for you to stand out.

The Thanksgiving Day Parade stamps look like a good one for this time of year, especially if you are sending out a Thanksgiving Card.

Good Morning Chris Ann:

A few years back we lost my last grandparent.  He had been a collector of stamps since 1920 and upon his death the collection was quite extensive.  The collection has since been sold but not before the family distributed a many years supply of stamps.    Since they were primarily American stamps and every amount from 3 cents and up - they have become one of my greatest joys in client communication.

Linda:  I used to think a stamp was keeping me ahead of the game until I pow-wowed with an agent in my office who taught me this trick.

Eric:  Glad you found it useful.

Cathy:  Wow!  That's cool.  I collected stamps as a kid, so I have a soft spot for them.  They are like little works of art.

Using a real stamp of any kind is much better the a postal meter stamp.  I like the idea of unusual stamps.

Wow! And I was hoping no one would notice that I am still using the Nutcracker stamps that I overpurchased last December.  But then maybe it's a good thing.

You can also create a personalized stamp that would really surprise your clients and prospects.  You could create one with a photo from your neighborhood if you wanted.

I agree with you, and love to buy the pretty stamps.  I always notice the stamps on the mail I receive and save the unique ones.  Maybe one day we will do something with them........

Cindy:  I thought I'd heard of something like that.  Neat!

Ann:  Can you imagine wallpapering a basement with stamps?  I bet during the course of our real estate careers we send out enough mail to do exactly that.
