I am calling upon my ActiveRain friends to stop just for a moment and think about how you can help others this season. We have over 162,962 members. Can you just imagine if everyone just donated $1 this year to help an organization? Even by breaking into groups( ie: Realtors, Stage it Forward, The Art of Marketing You, etc.), we could make a huge difference in many different non-profit organizations who are struggling. These types of organizations depend soley on donations. Most have no paid staff and rely exclusively on contributions. The smaller, local organizations are being the hardest hit.

The force of this economy has taken its toll on ALL of us in some way. Though we trudge on through the hurdles of our own daily lives, there are others too that deserve our help. The elderly, children, and animals all pull on my own heartstrings and I try to help as many of our area non-profits as I can. One way for you to help is to find an organization locally and do a search related to the specific cause that you are interested in.  I had found out through one of my local animal groups, there was a special sanctuary just up the road that was putting heartfelt efforts into a special segment of the animal world.  But now this organization very, very dear to my heart, is in financial distress and is facing possible foreclosure

We will be putting forth our efforts to help A Chance for Bliss. They have gone to great lengths over the years to save unwanted, elderly, and special needs animals. They allow these creatures to live out their last years, months, and days with love and dignity. If you would like to help this so deserving organization, click here and it will bring you to the donation web page.

A Chance for Bliss is currently
home to roughly seventy
assorted animals, each with
their own tale and personality.

Since 2000,
A Chance for Bliss
has cared for over 100
companion animals.
Of these, over 40 have gone
on to earn their wings.

As stated on their website: "By caring for this unique segment of the animal world, our intent is to provide a previously overlooked and under served population a safe haven to live out their lives in
a setting which affords them dignity, grace, love, and peace.  In doing our work our first
priority is of course the care of the residents, but equally important is our goal to educate
the community at large as to the benefits of adopting a senior or special needs animal. In
doing so, we hope to accomplish our goal of increasing the likelihood that a greater
number of these types of animals will be adopted from local rescues and shelters, and
that more and more will also find A Chance for Bliss."

Meet their residents HERE.  See the history of their mission and animals HERE.

So my fellow AR friends... what will you be doing? Locally, state wide, nationally... $1, $5, $10 is not alot to give, but it makes a world of difference for those in need... especially now.

Thank you, and May you find Peace in the Spirit of Giving.

Darrell... thank you for stopping by. Tis the season to start thinking about those less fortunate... especially the agencies who's efforts have been hampered by this economy.

We are honored and humbled.  Thank you for taking our cause into your network, on behalf of all of our snoring, gassy, demanding, but grateful and loving kids.  The old guys are the best.  *hugs*

Deanna... you, and the gang are so welcome.

Chris... thanks for stopping by.  This place really is a last chance for many animals to live their life out in dignity and love... it is so sad to think that this fine organization may close.  I just can't bare to think about it.

Thanks for doing this Lori. The critter kids and their human friends at Bliss are so deserving of everyone's attention and support!

Ann... you bet. The kids at my school now are collecting books for Lynn to sell for you guys ;) They are so focused on helping and have picked several of the critters as their own to watch out for. It is very heartwarming to see fifth graders be so passionate about helping.
