And we are off to Alaska, a trip of a lifetime and years in the planning.

Welcome to Alaska

Starting with the approach to the Seattle runway, four things stand out in my memory about the three weeks Dave & I spent on the west coast.

  • Awesome views:  Mountains, streams, ocean, waterways
  • Vivid green color & flowers
  • Friendly people everywhere: in port & on the ship
  • The weather:  sun, clouds, rain or clouds, rain & sun, followed by sunshine & warmth in sunny CA

The pictures tell the story:  Enjoy & plan your own trip to Alaska

Zane--My pleasure to share just a few pictures.  It was hard to choose which ones. Such a wonderful vacation, but the pictures hardly do it justice.

Carole--Plan a trip.  You will enjoy.  There are so many options and not enought time.  That is the tough part.  Decide what types of things you like to do first.  Then GO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Mary, my in-laws recently visited Alaska and really enjoyed it.  I have a relative who goes there three of four times a year on business...he says it's absolutely beautiful.

I love that waterfall coming right out of the middle of the woods! That is so cool! And the buildings are so quaint and nostalgic. Now I want to visit there! As far as vacations go, is this one of the more affordable ones?

Nick--I hope you can go there sometime.  We met several people on the cruise who had been to Alaska numerous times and loved it.  The weather is always the big factor.  So go & enjoy no matter the weather.

Bob,

Thanks for the featured post in your group.  I agree with you about the specialness of Alaska.  So many people have asked us about our trip as they hope to go there, too.  We met many people on our cruise who have been there numerous times.  For us it was a truly a "trip of a life time."
