"The new Target business model is to build in locations where, rather than being a big box in a sea of parking, the store is integrated into a more urban setting...in the traditional sense where it is surrounded by smaller retailers, with below grade parking, or built over on grade parking. Ideally the Target store will have additional uses above it, such as housing or offices. Target going into the Metreon is a perfect example of their approach to future expansion. Ultimately Target would like to lose it's association with ‘Big Box' retail." [Target's Coming to the Metreon]
