2007 Goals

I have a board above my desk. I use the board to keep track of clients, current listing, pending sales and my goals for 2007.

Here at the mid term break, while I notice my goals some are and have been met while others I need to attend too. Sales and Listings are in line for a great year. What about those personal goals. My big one is family vacations. I have schedule 5 breaks through out the year. We have been on only one so far this year. My second vacation is schedule for August just before school returns. Golf is another that I have not made enough time for. So many things to do so little time. Just like I wrote about paying yourself first, Realtors are we forgetting to Help Our Selves, we need to take vacation and meet the goals we place in front of us.

As for the rest of my goals, all the work related will be met by years end. Look over goals you set up for self. Meet them but don't forget to pay your self first.

What a great post!  Too many people make goals and fail to review them!  This is a great time to look at ours and evaluate where we are!

Thank you for your blog.  I really appreciate someone slapping me in the face and saying have you done what you have set out to done.  Nothing like a swift kick in the but to get you motivated an back on track.  lol  My goals are so far off, as of right now.  I was to be  out of my JOB and full time Realtor by now.  I am looking at next year now.  My JOB requires me to be there 6 days a week, from 9-7 or 8.  My only day off is Thursday, but that is changing to Friday next week.  I am trying to build my internet, email, phone, mailout business.  I am working to build my own newsletter, so I can at least get my face in front of them via mail or at their front door, as oppossed to them being able to delete me or block my emails.  Thanks again.  Earl "The Pearl" Sorrells

Chris, I agree with you we all set up these things and don't follow up. I have this white board I bought @ SAM'S. You can erase and make changes... you know the type. As I reach a goal, I make the change etc... Today, we caught a break today, no baseball this morning just a party tonight at the clubhouse. I was sitting and pondering where the year has gone. I looked up and notice where I was at as far as goal are going. I thought to my self I need to get with it. Thanks for your time.

Earl the Pearl - I like that. Don't slap your self to hard just keep working at. This business requires a lot of time. I have several agents, who are face with the same thing. Just keep your day job until you get things rolling. I do have an agent, who just gave his full time job his two notice. It has taken about 8 months and things are just getting rolling for him. So It does happen. Good Luck.

  4. Adding 3 Rental Properties
  5. Continuing Ed requirements by August (usually happens in December).
  6. 20 close transactions

Great post!  Goals are always good to have, with out them in place people lose their focus.  Great reminder!

This is a great time of year to re-evaluate the goals we set earlier in the year. Why wait until January to think about goals. This is the time of year where we can make adjustments to our schedule and still make our goals by years end.

Geordie-I am always looking at my board and sometimes I just don't see the tree because of the Forest. I have my goals written on this board but fail to just look and think. Thanks

I like the idea about the board.  That way you can really see it.  I have goals but I think it would be more effective to have them up and visible so that I can see them and remember to stay focused daily.

Kimberly, the board is great. You just have to remember to use. I like to think that I would update as I accomplish a goal. Mark off, and/or update. For example the vacations I have a goal of four vacations in 2007. i line thru and date as we have taken them. Thanks for your time.
