About a month ago I read a Week in Review by Christina Lackey. She teased you into trying a week - see how easy you thought it was. Well, I'm not one to turn down a challenge. So I contacted Neal Bloom to volunteer.

Well, this week I was asked to write the post. (I had a busy week. I also got meme'd). So off I went... reading, reading, reading and more reading. I've actually met a lot of bloggers I didn't know before. It's been a great week. I kept a running list of the posts I liked. I had the 'yes absolutely' part of my list and the 'great post maybe' part of my list. I had no idea how many blogs I would come across that warranted a Top 25 inclusion. I ended up just narrowing down from my 'yes absolutely' list. (12 of these were featured.)

A quick note about my criteria... it's all so subjective, but mine all mine.

  • I am a skimmer. I like posts that are formatted well. Draw you in and keep you there.

  • I like new topics or new perspectives on ongoing topics or things that just stand out.

  • Every post on this list is one that I thought about again later, when I was away from the computer. This is really the key for me. The criteria for that would be different for everyone. But a post that makes me think about something, consider a different view or leads me to new ideas.... That's what I like. That's what makes me subscribe to blogs.

popcornSo grab some popcorn, sit forward, and start clicking through excellent web surfing on Active Rain for the week... You never know where it may lead you.

How did I stack up to the challenge?

I loved compiling this. I read so many great posts and got a lot out of reading so many blogs. I highly suggest you volunteer for a week (contact Neal). It is a time commitment, but well worth it. I actually would like to officially volunteer again for a future opening.

Angie... this was excellent. I say this because you also got a lot of new people in there.  One thing I will say, I am glad that you weren't a teacher or mine in the past.  ;o)  Sounded like some tough criteria. And I mean that in a good way. Overall, very nice job. I have some reading to do.

Angie: Wow. What a week for me. I also got mentioned in Mortgage Week in Review. Unbelievable with so much talent around Rainland. Glad you liked my story about starting in real estate. That year literally shaped my entire professional career, and it was all about being in the right place at the wrong time. Funny how things work out.

I can't wait to read the rest of your picks and thank you for including me, and taking on this job.

Great job, Angie. Thanks for including me!  I now get to do the happy dance this Monday morning.  You obviously did your homework for this blog - thank you, thank you. Now-  off I go to read the blog or two that I missed this week.  :0)

WOW - Thanks everyone! What a way to start a morning. All of your feedback has literally put me on top of the world. It is really nice to hear how much you liked this post and it seems most of you liked the category organization as well. I thought that may be helpful so people could pick topics they like.

A few notes in reply to specific items...

Neal Bloom - I will certainly volunteer for another week (after a little break of course :)

Christina Lackey - It is not as easy as it looks. It takes a lot of time and reading and those final disputes when you find a really good one and have to knock another really good one off... oh... but so great, I would definitely do it again!

Brad Andersohn - That award is something. Do you do that every week? Thank you so much, it is very nice.

Jeff Belonger - lol about being a teacher. The articles that made it in are definitely top notch.

Karen Hurst - What else have I been doing this week? :) Ummm, slacking on my moderating job (just kidding), working on my regular job, traveled to Nashville for a day, went horseback riding  a couple times, took a final for school, played games with my 2 yr old, gave the same little man a hair cut with the help of my husband....keep going... I think I earned a nap!

Yolanda Hoversten - Quiz.... that's a great idea. I just may have to quiz everyone :P

Angie - I only give this award once a week, I do also give the (Affiliate Andersohn Approval Award) on a regular basis as well. I have chosen your post (and all posts) for this weeks trophy award based on the following 5 criteria:

  1. Must be a Featured Post
  2. Outstanding Content
  3. The Look, Feel and Layout
  4. Link Love to Others
  5. Positive Comments by Viewers

If you see my   award around the rain, it is not based on the above criteria.  It's just my little way of giving extra kudos to the writer of that post.  Much like the Moderators "Gold Star", or the "Cookie" etc.  :-)

Brad, I now need to know how you did that trophy with the names on it! You are just full of tips and tricks.

Angie, dividing it into groups is great. I've already signed onto two or three. Guess that's what I'll be doing in my spare time today. :-)

Strange... anyone know what could have happened with this? The date shows I posted this article this morning, but I posted almost two days ago. Interesting. I have no idea how it changed. I did not make any edits to the article. Maybe AR wanted to show it in the featured main page a little longer?

Angie, I just made it to your review.  A remarkable job indeed.  I like the new faces, some real talent out there.

Congrats to all mentioned.
