Sylvie,

Have you taken a course like this before, or do you know anyone who has?

Debra, check out Carole Provenzale of New York - she's on Active Rain and she's very close to you. :)

Marc, I won't be attending this one ... I may be in lovely Kitchener on this day ...
... but I thought you might be interested, since it's in your neighbourhood.

Fred, I attended one a while back... otherwise I'd go.

Brian, I think the first Feng Shui course I ever attended was back in 2000.  I enjoyed it and found it to be very useful, as some clients are really into it.  I probably should go to another one now, as I'm sure they're more 'advanced' now then when I first took it - as it was not so popular then.
I've had clients call a Feng Shui consultant to come see a house before they ever put an offer on it, so I think it's something we can dedicate a day to, and get some credits at the same time.

The Canadian School of Feng Shui is always holding these all over the City, so I'm sure they'll have one in other neighbourhoods soon.  I'll post it here, if I hear of another one.  You just missed one in Mississauga in September.

Sylvie, Of course you knew I would love to hear of this event.  I wish the US would give CE credits for Feng Shui Classes for Real Estate Agents, they would really enjoy it and learn a lot.

Carole, here, the Feng Shui consultant approaches the Real Estate Countil of Ontario (they issue our licenses and approve our continuing education providers), and they get on their approved list of education suppliers.  Don't you guys have something similar there?  You should approach them.  I think you could get very busy providing continuing education credits.  Just show them what Ontario is doing. :)

Thanks for the link Sylvie. I think I just might sign up for the course offered in Whitby, on Nov. 17th. I have been signing out all kinds of books from the library on the subject, I think Feng Shui is a trend that will continue to grow.

Kimberley, I agree.  I've had clients walk away from what looked like the right property, even those that were staged, because 'things weren't right'.

Sylvie - For pre-approved education providers, the education provider does not always need to request RECO to add it to the list.  About a year or so ago, I sent a letter to RECO asking that they add a new pre-approved education provider along with a list of courses it offered.  Several weeks later, it was added and I am happy.  I am thinking that I might request that RECO add a couple more providers.

My comment would NOT apply to approved education providers who must submit details of each course they offer.

Marc, my comment was basically to say that the provider has to be approved (regardless of who approves them).   Carole would need to become an approved supplier, in order to start teaching the course for continuing education credits (if they have such a thing in New York).

Sylvie, I'm glad Feng Shui is being offered to agents. Many of its principles are used in Staging. We cover issues like colour, furniture placement and traffic flow. The energy the house gives off is important. Some sellers look at me as if I'm crazy when I tell them the house should talk to the buyer.

Janice, tell the sellers that the home definitely talks to the buyers.... if it doesn't, they will find one that does. :)

Sylvie, I wish I could attend.  I remember a buyer in Forest Hill who changed the number on their home because it had the number four in it.  Four is bad luck.  I don't know how they got it changed but this is a big deal in the Chinese culture.  I have done a lot of reading on the subject and would love to be a part of this conference.

Marcia, I can't imagine getting the City to change the address ... I wonder what they 'donated' to the cause. :)

Karen, I'm sure there's someone out there doing the same... this is getting more and more popular.
