In spite of your best efforts, you may rub some people the wrong way.   Even if you do your best to treat others with consideration, they may have a different interpretation of what being considerate entails and end up angry.  Or they may be upset for a multitude of reasons and you just showed up at the wrong time and became the scapegoat.

Stay cool and try not to let it get under your skin.  Analyze the situation and try to see the other person's viewpoint; decide if there is any merit to their anger and whether you would do anything differently if you could do it over.  Make it a learning experience.

Colleen, it is alwaya hard when you are sure you have been polite, treated someone fairly and they feel otherwise. You just never know what is behind their motivation. You are so right here.

No matter how hard we try sometimes someone will be upset about something. I do think its all in how we handle these situations.

Colleen - this is an excellent point - you just never know what a person has going on in their life and by staying cool we can hopefully keep the situation from getting worse and create a better situation for that person.  It's a great way to learn about how everyone is different - everyone's situation is different and how we don't need to add more to their situation in a negative way.  I try to approach people and situations in a way that is positive and yes, it's up to that person to have a different outlook - I can't do if for them but I at least guarantee that I did my best to make the situation better not worse.  Thanks for sharing this positive way of looking at it :) ~ Anne Marie

Colleen, You can make some of the people happy some of the time, but you can't make all the people happy all of the time" I believe it was Abraham Lincoln who said something similar to this. We can only do our best. Thanks.

In the end if something goes wrong it is always the realtor's fault.  If you know you have done all you can and been above board in all your dealing then shake it off and move on to the next deal.  Life is too short to worry about "would-a, should-a , could-a.

Colleen.....we can't be everything to everyone.....there will always be people with whom you just don't mesh, no matter how hard you try....life goes on though.
