That is so much worse than what I have ever seen here. That is incredible.
Those look like jobs that were not finished completely. I hope they weren't contractors' work.
Hey guys, this is one of the worst I have seen from a 'finished' standpoint. I don't know if it was a contractor or not. But, how could the home owner not have it finished? It had been in this state for a while. Thanks for stopping by.
Ian, is that upper section missing its ridge vent---or just not capped? Nice overhang:)
Charles, actually neither. The shingles from the other side were just flapped over the ridge and nailed down. Nice, hey?
Maybe they saw the rains coming---decided to safet he vent cap for another day and then---one day led to the next:)
Then again---perhaps they just screwed up:)
Ian - I think that in both cases the person didn't go back to finish the work for one reason or another. To be honest with you, I'm surprised the wind didn't pull off the overhanging shingles.
Charles-These shingles had been in this state for a few years, I found this out after the fact.
Suesan-There were a few spots on another edge where they had blown off the roof.
In such cases around here, I often find that a roofing contractor did the work, and it's usually on a little old lady's home. After all, she's not going to climb up on the roof to see if the roofing contractor did the job right. I mean, after all, who would take advantage of a sweet little old lady?
