Quick Tip To Share - Wonderful Uses for Lemon Juice and They're GREEN!

Green Living Tips Lemon juice can be used for so many different situations around the home! Because of lemons acidity they are perfect for some tough cleaning jobs and are somewhat antiseptic and antibacterial. Here are some great ideas for using lemon juice around the house:

If you have light colored countertops and they become stained with kool-aid, wine, food stains, etc just pour a little lemon juice on the stain and let stand for a few minutes. After only a few minutes sprinkle some baking soda on the spot and scrub - the stain will disappear. **I have personally tried this on a home I had listed that had a small cigarette burn/stain on a counter and IT WORKED! Now, it wasn't a deep and nasty stain but a stubborn one nonetheless.
Use a fresh cut lemon to clean your copper pots and copper fixtures! Just cut a lemon into wedges or halves and rub over the copper - it removes spots FAST!
Add some lemon juice to vinegar and place in a spray bottle - you have a fantastic everyday cleaner!
GARBAGE DISPOSALS! I am ALWAYS throwing lemons down my garbage disposal! Not only does the juice of the lemon help deoderize the disposal bit the rinds help to sharpen the blades.

My grandma taught me this years ago!! Who knew granny was green?? :)...for all the ladies..my grandmother (former Ms. Mississippi) always kept a fresh lemon on hand to wash her face. She only uses lemon juice and water...even now...

Leesa, all very good uses for a natural citrus wonder...lest we forget Tequila & Cointreau..lemon on the rocks. Margaritas anyone?

These are some great tips, my grandmother use to use vinegar water and newspaper to clean all glass in the home.

Ice cubes are good for sharpening your disposal blades as well, but they don't smell nearly as good as lemons!

I'll have to give these a try. It makes sense, these methods have been forgotten since products like 409 and Fantastic came on the market.

By far, my favorite use of the lemon is sliced with a bottle of Corona.

Lana - Yes, they are great for the disposal! Thrown in a few ice cubes and you have a super clean and great smelling sink!

Another great use for lemons!

As a dog lover I have one more lemon juice tip. If your puppy gets food stains in the hair around their mouth, wash it off/soak it with a little lemon juice. It will make the dingy brown food color go away. The hard part is keeping them still while you do it.

Leesa, those are great tips. Who knew lemons had so many great uses!?! I'e heard about putting them down the disposal, but the counter tops idea is new to me. I will definitely keep that in mind. My best favorite use for lemons is squeezing them over a fresh fillet of fish! Also, you're getting close to 300,000 points. That is awesome! I hope I can get to that level someday!

By combining a few tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of table salt you have a great copper cleaning agent. Just rub in on and then polish it off…so shiny! If your items are heavily soiled, you can buff the area with ketchup and a sponge. You can also rub lemon on brass and copper to get into any grooves that need cleaning…just be sure to wipe it off once it is clean.
