On The Hunt For Some Albany Eye Candy

Looking forward to poking around upstate. Leaving in 15 minutes. This should be very interesting. Too bad it's raining. Then again, diffused lighting can make for some very interesting pictures. Hopefully it will clear up by 10 and traffic isn't too bad. We shall see...

In the meantime, got your e-mails and shall answer them once I get settled in. Wordy C answering e-mail is always fun for me (even when I'm cranky - LOL).

Why am I cranky? Was stuck in the elevator with my neighbor, no one answered the alarm going off and my cell phone kept dropping the signal (too much metal). Finally got through to the hubby and a neighbor. Hubby thought I was kidding and took his time while the neighbor hunted down maintenance. Hmm...

Maintenance kept bouncing the elevator up and down until it finally landed on a floor where the door would open. :-)

All's well that ends well. Too bad it messed up my schedule and sunny disposition (LOL). Yes, there is irony in that statement (LMAO). See you guys later... ;-)

2PM UPDATE: I have a lot of eye candy and am playing in a thunderstorm. Blogging live from Albany is going to be fun (LOL).

Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. We are also getting a lot of rain in Maryland.

I hope the maintenance is on the ball an contacts the manufacturer and permiting authorities. This is nothing to ignore. While falling elevators are rare, they can be deadly.

IF MAINTENANCE DOESN'T CONTACT THE INSPECTION AUTHORITIES, A COMPLAINT SHOULD BE MADE WITH SOMEONE. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING TO IGNORE.

I had a family of buyers a few years ago whose wife had been in a fallen elevator. She was seriously injured and will take years of treatment and therapy to recover.

Oh Lord! You are lucky to be on solid ground and in one piece. "Hubby thought I was kidding and took his time while the neighbor hunted down maintenance. Hmm..." I would loved to of been a fly on the wall when he figured out you were NOT KIDDING! lol Have a safe drive and a great rest of the day! Hey it can only go up hill , right?

Lenn, I was considering writing my last will and testament on a blog post (just in case - LOL). Live from the elevator has an interesting ring to it, doncha think? ;-)

Dick and Dixie, by the second call he was dressing the kids and going from elevator door to elevator door pushing them all flush while we pushed every button. Got happy when the thing went to the basement only to discover we were still stuck. Actually joked about the fact we wouldn't have far to fall when the damn think shot back up a couple of floors and wouldn't let us out (LOL). Kept making this strange noise and I am so glad my neighbor was with me because having someone to chat with kept me from freaking out completely.

Fernando, Roy was letting me know he stopped in for a visit and is wishing me well. I have that effect on people sometimes. They don't know what to say, so they say hi (LOL).

Good Lord! It's great to see you still have a sense of humor. Scary!!!!

Have a great time upstate. I spent some time up around Lake George back in July and September. (Visitikng in-law relatives) I was surprised at the lack of cell service in the Adirondacks. Couldn't hardly get a signal if I wasn't in a town!

I would have freaked out completely!! Especially if my cell phone would not work.

I was stuck in an elevator once. They couldn't budge it. Had to climb down on a ladder while looking at the gaping hole of the basement below. Good thing it got stuck right above the lobby. Phew!

I think it was your wicked energy -- as they'd say in Boston. You shorted out the dang thing!! That was wicked fun!

C - Been there, in fact was stuck in an elevator at ReBar Camp in Boston. It did not seem to be as dramatic as your experience, but it was funny once we were free. Needless to say, I used the stairs when I left. ;-)

Real estate always has its ups and downs! Hope you finally got upstate OK!

I knew of someone who once walked through into a "supposed" elevator once the doors opened but there was no elevator -- fell a dozen floors and died, so sad. My wife is claustrophobic and would have had a complete meltdown and started hyper-ventilating so it's a lucky thing she wasn't on the elevator with you both!

C- I am glad you are OK and that you did not die from a Claustrophobia episode! Make it a wonderful week! Katerina

My problem is I move so fast that being stuck would really annoy me....hopefully you were there with someone who doesn't freak out. That would make it worst....or maybe fun if you had to spend the time slapping the face of the neighbor? But I digress, glad you made it out.

Now that you're out of the box, I'm sure you are on a roll once again. This is why everyone promotes taking the stairs.

Elevators are particularly weird for me anyway and like the others here, I would be more than bothered! Nice to see your sunny disposition always bounces back no matter what!

C - It would have been any issue for me, I would have a meltdown I am claustrophobic. So what route are you taking upstate? I can tell you it is nasty out.

When was it when you called me? Remember it was hard for me to hear you. Perhaps, it was my wicked energy . . . ? Couldn't get you clear at the coffee shop, couldn't get you clear on the land line. GOSH . . . I agree with Jennifer, I would have had a meltdown. I'm not claustrophobic, but can't stand things that don't act right. You know I love ya . . . and now I'm really Whacked. THat figures on the husband, eh???? I guess he thought it was your offbeat sense of humor.

A week ago I texted my 13 year old if he was okay. He was with my stepmom and he gets so tired of me asking that question! So he texted back "No, we're stuck. The car is dead." I thought it was a joke.

An hour later, a tow truck... and they got home. He was not amused.

C - One of my biggest fears is being stuck in an elevator, glad you landed safely!

Erica, the problem with being a prankster is sometimes you get pranked when you really, really mean business (LOL). He stopped cracking wise when he realized I was not kidding. Dressing the shorties can be a trip once they undress and get comfy. Stephen is quick to kick his pants to the curb. Cranky if you make him get up once he decides to sleep too (LOL). Noah kinda sleep walks his way through if he's tired but Step will give you hell if you disturb him when he doesn't want to be disturbed (LMAO).

Patricia, it was interesting in a very strange way. You tend to wonder what's going to happen next. Especially when the strange grinding/squealing noise starts... Now there's an OMG moment. What's that sound? becomes an understatement (LOL). ;-)

Carla, seeing how I am a whacked, jacked and chaotic kinda gal, I get you. TOTALLY! (LMAO) ;-) Love ya right back bay-bay! Wait until I invade your state! We're gonna have mad fun. Hubby is still scratching his head behind that one. My sudden interest in heading West in a spot that "doesn't have a Melodious" has him going "Hmm..." (ROTFL). He's so used to me and Mel constantly being on the phone I think I just confused him (LOL).

Tammy, my throat is going to be sore in the morning because I have been popping in and out of the rain all day. It never stopped.

Jennifer I-87 and I-787 took up most of my time. A beautiful ride... Nice views. :-)

Russell, I figured since I couldn't change anything why melt down when I could start texting, calling and eventually blogging (LOL). Prayer is a beautiful thing. God hears you whether you whisper or scream. ;-)

JL, I took the stairs, then made myself take the elevator again because the idea of living in fear pissed me off (LOL).

Chris, that happened twice in another building. I know the pain of that... Sorry for your loss.

See if you can shoot pictures of cars and kids splashing through puddles... hopefully not the same puddle at the same time.

LOL @ Lane. My kids are master puddle splashers. They get that skill set from their Dad. ;-)

LOL @ Richard. I actually went so high up on the moutain at one point I saw the clouds kissing the tree line. That was very, very cool. Too bad there was no room for me to pull over and get the shot. I really wanted to film that as a short video for the wee people. It was really neat to see. :-)

Judy, I seem to be leaning more towards the steps now. I hesitate as soon as I come out the door. I never used to do that. Now I have to make a decision to get on or not... Hmm... I wonder how long that pause is going to last...

Carla, you are really starting to make me think. I don't want to think (LOL). ;-)

Judy C, holy cow... My kids would have loved that bit of adventure. I'm a bit nervous thinking about it myself, but what a unique view. Betcha very few people who don't work there ever get to see that sight, which is a good thing (LOL).

Barb, the cell phone is a very good point. Had it not worked, I would have been on the air card praying to God one of my friends were awake reading me. Talk about a new use for social media (LOL).

Erby, I can't use my air card or cell phone in the Adirondacks. Drives me nuts. I resort to roaming charges (LOL).

Peggy, it's one of those waiting to exhale moments. Since I am easily amused I decided to amuse myself by calling people while I was waiting and chatting with the neighbor. He had a beautiful touch phone with no signal. I only had one bar. Thank God one bar was enough. I am a Sprint fan. :-)

Oh my C.. stuck in the elevator.. not fun I'm sure. Glad all turned out well.... will watch for the eye candy :)

C Tann-- all kids are different, aren't they? How can kids from the same parents be so different? Laughing that the husband thought you really were messing with him. That is great.
