Interesting article. In the Boston area, the towns are all so financially cash-strapped, that it has been a problem for the towns to respond to requests for an abatement of the property tax. We will probably see more towns requesting voters to allow increases in the tax rates to cover the lost revenues based on value. Either way, the residential homeowner is going to bear the burden as more commercial businesses close down.
