I'm sure there were a lot of comments earlier today about the piece on Real Estate that aired last night on 20/20. But here I go again........I just wish there would be a little more honest information about FSBOs and for FSBOs. If someone wants to sell their home by themselves, that's great! And the truth of the matter is they can save a lot of money..........IF.........they can sell their house!!!!!!
The fact of the matter is, people who try to go it alone are unsuccessful most of the time. It takes a lot of time, money and effort to do it right. Plus most home owners are not covered by Errors and Omissions insurance. They could make a mistake that could cost them a great deal of money. Plus, holding open houses for your own property is no fun. Who wants to hear all those negatives all the time. As far as ForSaleByOwner.com goes, an acquantance of mine had only lenders and Realtors contact her........No Buyers!
Of course there are success stories, but the public should hear all the facts including the percentages of failure.
