(not so) Wordless Wednesday ~ Downtown Franklin, TN

Downtown Franklin, TN is steeped in history, tradition, and a unique blend of old and new. Is it any wonder that this quaint town was named one of the top 10 Best US neighborhoods by the American Planning Association? Downtown Franklin, TN is Tennessee's first neighborhood to get this designation.

I will be doing a video blog on Downtown Franklin, TN later this week. This picture was a screen shot of some footage I took earlier this morning. Now maybe you understand why Hollywood wets the streets in night shots. Better reflected light.

I can see that the leaves are not falling yet.  Where I am in NYC, they are falling like rain.  Nice picture and thanks for the tip.

This photo is the perfect shot of a "quaint American town".

I heart downtown Franklin. I am so glad it kept it's charm in the midst of all the new growth.

I also love McCreary's Pub. My favorite Irish Pub ever. :)

I love night photos but I'm not good at them... fuzzy, not focused, etc. Need to take tripod with me I guess!

Michael-

The thing that grabs me about downtown Franklin is that the town square is almost a duplicate of Gettysburg?  At two opposite ends of the Civil war and historically Gettysburg is the Hi-water mark of the confederacy while Franklin ( along) with Nashville, represents the lowest point (IMHO).

Michael - Another great picture, I can only imagine what the video will look like. Most of us now take Franklin for granted, but visitors are always amazed that downtown Franklin is totally historic.
