Big Pharma

I have been saying this for years, but all I got were nay sayers. Big Pharma is in business to make money. If they found cures for everything, they would be out of business. They hurt people and deceive people to make money. It's all about money and profit!! Most of what Big Pharma offers is a joke and does nothing more than harm and make you take more legalized drugs. Talk about clouding your brain, judgment, reason, critical and creative thinking, etc. I'm so glad more and more people are coming out and speaking up about many things in different industries! The political awakening on a Global Scale continues to grow!

No surprise. The first rule of business is to make money. Pharma is no different from all business including ours.

Ok, I need to comment here. I am a full-time pharmaceutical rep and do real estate on the side with my husband who does real estate full-time. You are so off base here it is ridiculous. The pharmaceutical industry has done more good for mankind than you will ever know. If it wasn't for all of the drugs it created our life expectancy would not only be much shorter, but we would endure much suffering. You have no understanding of how much money goes into the research and development of drugs. Since when does any business have an obligation to do things for free? Pharmaceutical companies are in the business to develop drugs and God forbid...... make a profit.... (yes, that evil capitalism rears it's ugly head).

The next time you or your family gets sick and need a prescription, just remember who found a remedy for your illness and maybe you'll have a little more appreciation.

Kim, also, as a pharma rep, how come you do not promote Vitamin B17 which is great against cancer? How come you do not promote hemp oil, which is great against cancer and other diseases? Or cinnamon which is a natural aid for diabetes? How about apricot seeds? All natural substances proven to aid in the cure of diseases. The list goes on.

Tony, Pharmaceutical companies do spend big bucks on R&D. they charge huge amounts for new drugs. Once their license expires other drug companies can produce generics from the formula. They also give back to those who cannot afford necessary prescriptions either for free or low cost.

I am alive today because of Pharmaceutical advances. I take an oral chemo drug daily that was not available 10 years ago. It was still being tested.

It's a catch 22. You have to cover your development costs to bring the drug to market. The FDA is responsible to see that unsafe drugs do not hit the market. The drug companies are forced to abide by protocols before the FDA will approve the drug. If one slips through it is not because those protocols were ignored, it's because those people susceptible to the side effects were not captured in the study groups.

I took a drug and had a very rare side effect from the drug. Millions of other people use it daily without a problem. That does not mean the drug is bad or unsafe. The human body is not like a car engine - every human body is different. Things will go wrong with some people.

Bonnie, I understand this. The video is referring to all the crap that they promote. I understand there is good in pharma, I'm a cancer survivor myself. The fact of the matter is, is they do not want to release cures, so they can make huge profits...power and control...also the crap they promote that this guy says in the video.

Why do they suppress natural cures?

I understand the good, but there is a lot of bad as this guy talks about.

I think Pharmaceutical reps should be banned from entering any doctor's office. They are drug pushers in pretty suits. Do I think they knowingly harm the public, no, do I think they are naieve, YES! They are being used for a very bad purpose.

A LOT of the drugs on the market should be banned. There is a drug for every ailment out there and it's rediculous. Need longer lashes, Brooke says buy Latisse, can't sleep, buy this, can't get over stress, swallow these, can't get an erection, here ya go, can't control your kid, put him on these, kid wets the bed, here's ya a pill for that too.....I mean come on!!!

We don't want to change so we pop a pill....how stupid is that. Then you see the side effects are worse than the original illness and it's insanity!!!!

HAve their been advances in medicine thanks to the pharmaceuticals, yes, but for every step forward we go back 5 as a society.

I agree with the guy in the video....not my kid!!!!

In fact, my husband was a 20 year Kodiak user and had a stroke last September. The doctors put him on about 5 drugs. 2 months ago he threw them all away saying they were keeping him sick. He now takes herbal supplements (like garlic, cinnamon, saw palmetto, peppermint oil, etc) and says he has never felt better in his life. His blood pressure is lower, his vertigo went away (they said it never would and they'd have been right if he'd stayed on their drugs), his stomache doesn't hurt anymore, etc.

Pharmaceuticals are not saving the world, they are corrupting it with their little brown bottles.

Tony, I am commenting on your words. I have been in the industry for 7 years and am so tired of people bashing the industry. I sell pain medications. One of my products is for chronic pain. If it wasn't for chronic pain meds, many people would have no quality of life. They would be bed ridden, unable to work, play with their children or even perform day to day functions. I am proud of what i do for a living because I believe in the products I sell. I would never promote products that did not serve a need. There may be natural remedies out there, but not everyone responds to these treatments. The same can be said for pharmaceuticals. There are many different products in each drug class and not every patient responds to each product the same. It is nothing but a huge conspiracy theory that the drug companies are holding back the "cures" for diseases. There is no cure for cancer or HIV.

Cheryl, banning drug reps from offices would only hurt the patients. New drugs are very expensive and the samples we provide patients are invaluable. Samples are meant to make sure patients will do well on the drug before they spend money on a prescription. Samples are also meant for those patients who cannot afford a prescription so their doctor can provide them with the drug at no cost. We also educate the doctors on our products. It is not a hard sell. I would never want a doctor to prescribe my product to the wrong patient. I educate the doctors on which product is best for which patient - whether it is my product, or another product. It is all about what is best for the patient.

I am not a drug pusher in a pretty suit. (although, I must say I do have many pretty suits :) ) I am a college educated, highly intelligent professional. I didn't just fall off the turnip truck. I know what is right in my heart and I know my chosen profession is for the benefit of mankind. As for those products such as Latisse, Ambien, Viagra and the likes, those are real medical conditions (granted, not a huge market, but a market none the less). I still say we should be thankful for all of the breakthroughs in medicine thanks to the pharmaceutical industry.

Kim: My words reflect those spoken in the video by the gentleman speaking who was in the pharmaceutical industry for 35 years.

I am thankful for the good side of the industry, but there is a lot of garbage that is not necessary and the gentleman speaking outright says it and as I said, he was in the industry 35 years.

How do you know there are no cures? Have you been able to engage in in-depth research as a sales rep or are you going by the words of your company? Do you think if they had the cure they would release it? Or do you think they want big profit through on-going medication?

Humans are one with nature. Take away air, sun, plants, trees, and we die. How can there not be natural cures? The reason it is suppressed is because they are not allowed to patent natural substances and make a profit from it.

I'm not knocking you personally, but the industry in general. Side effects from drugs, needing more drugs for the side effects and so on. It doesn't add up.
