Four Piers - No Waiting

By

The O.C. has over 42 miles of coastline and yesterday I decided to treat myself to a drive along almost every mile of it.  I enjoyed a great lunch with family in Long Beach just over the Orange County line.  So, I thought it would be fun to get a photo of each of the county's piers.  What more fitting way to celebrate the first Friday of Summer?  It was a beautiful day in the 80's inland and high 70's at the beach with a perfect offshore wind.

Orange County has 10 beach cities and oh so many beautiful beaches.  North to South they are Seal Beach, Surfside, Sunset Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Corona Del Mar, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, and San Clemente.

There are four piers and one "used to be pier" at Aliso Creek.  The piers are located from North to South at Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach (Laguna Beach Pier has been removed) and San Clemente.  Piers are the centers of the main part of downtown for the cities fortunate enough to have piers.  Each has their own special charm and activities.

There's fishing and dining on all of the four piers.  You can board a boat and go fishing offshore from Seal Beach.  Huntington Pier is a familiar site and provides a picturesque backdrop for the International Surfing Competiton each year.  Huntingtion Beach is also know as surf city.

In the photos you'll see people having a great time enjoying skating, bicycling, surfing, sunning, volleyball, snacking, sailing and just plain having fun.  In Huntington Beach there's even a place where dogs can frollick in the surf on "dog beach".  Ah, it is a dog's life! I hope you will enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. Happy Summer 2007.

Nice post there lady! Good pictures to. It is always a pleasure to look for your posts. Glad you had such a beautiful day in the Sunshine. I sent you a personal note about goggling the words REALTOR OATH, about the second one down on page one of Google. Right there for the whole world to see what I think of you! It was your smile when we met. That's all it took, and a few good words exchanged and ideas shared. A friendship was born.

Wishing you a beautiful Sunday! I have to work. I am so far behind in blogging, comments is about all I have time for a couple days.

Sincerely,
William

William - Thank you so much for your comments.  You sure know how to make my day!  I felt the same about you when we met.  You have so much wisdom and knowledge of this wonderful business.  And, you were so kind to be so open and giving of your time when we met.  It's no wonder you are such a successful REALTOR.  I know your clients must respect and adore working with you.

And yes, it was a wonderful afternoon in the sunshine.  AR has been a wonderful outlet for me to take some time to get some photos of this beautiful place I so enjoy living and working in.  It's especially wonderful this time of year and I just needed to try to capture it in a few photos.

Have a productive day tomorrow.  I know you'll get everything done in short order.

What a great way to spend your Friday.  My daughter and I do the same thing, we go to different places and are starting to post about them.  I think it is a great way for people to see the area without being here.  Gives those who are thinking of relocating here a better sense of what we have to offer.

Hi Marlene,

Thanks for sharing the piers, what a nice way to spend the afternoon. Last year I did a bike ride, from jetty then 4 piers, Balboa to Seal Beach and back. It was a wonderful day, I could almost walk afterwards (LOL), thanks for sharing this. You always have such a nice way of presenting things.

Fins up!

Laurie - Thanks for commenting.  It was a spectacular afternoon.  Next time you feel like taking that drive, give me a call and I'll meet you in Dana Harbor for a bite and a chat and some fun.

Linda - Isn't wonderful that with AR and our internet marketing we have an excuse to go out and see all the wonderful things that people are moving to our areas for?  So glad to hear you and your daughter are doing the same thing in Florida.  I love your state!  One of my fave vacations is starting at the top of your East coast and going alllllllll the way down to Key West.  That is a priceless adventure!  Let's hear it for A-1-A---Yay!

Bob - It was a great day.  A bit of work in the a.m., lunch with family to discuss wedding plans for my son and his fiance.  Then, out to enjoy some great photo ops.  Pretty much a perfect day.  Finished off with a couple great tacos, a cold bottle of Mexican beer and wonderful music.  Yup, it just doesn't get much better!

Katrina - Thanks for stopping by.  Glad you enjoyed the photos.  More to come!

Jeff - I know you do this, too.  It's one of the luxuries of our business in real estate.  We are able to blend our time with family, business and fun.  What most folks don't understand is that we do this 7 days a week with no weekends off or paid holidays!  It's still the best career move I've ever made!  Love to see Ruby's in Oceanside---Lunch?

Hey Lynda - It was a great way to spend the day.  I remember you telling me about your bike ride.  That's probably where I got the idea to do this....Scripture even tells us, "there is nothing new under the sun".  So, while probably not original, it sure was funnnn.  Fins Up! to you as well, my friend.
