Happy Halloween! Well, all the grapes are pretty much off the vines. The weather is a little cooler in the high 60's but clear. There is a little more of a northern wind than usual. But still a great time to come to the valley.

Downtown Napa has a lot to offer. If you are looking for a new experience outside your car, park and go. There are several new hotels, open markets with fantastic food, local wine shops and restaurants galor to choose from.

This link will provide you with a map of Napa's downtown.

Restaurant Pick of the Week: Frankies Deli on Main

 www.frankiesonmain.com

Our great uncle, Frank Rossi, made a life with the people of Napa. We are excited to re-open the store in his honor!

Frankie's Deli
1502 Main Street
Napa, CA 94559

mindy@frankiesonmain.com

James King, Mindy's husband, is the store manager and spends long hours, 6 days a week ensuring that the customer experience is consistent and always features the freshest ingredients! (In case you're wondering about how to get on James' good side - just say somethin' nice about the Houston Texans!)

Frankie's great nieces, Michele and Mindy, are proud to be bringing the Italian Deli & Grocery back to Main Street!

In the early 1900's, immigrants from Lake Como Italy, made their way through Ellis Island, San Francisco and points north to downtown Napa. For three decades, Frank Rossi, his family and friends, owned and operated his store in classic Italian style.

The freshest meats and cheeses, desserts and espresso could always be found at the corner of Napa and Main.

Frankie was a dear part of his community. The union members, local firemen, classic and racing car restoration buffs all loved him. His family and friends are glad to have customers from the 50's and 60's still come in and telling us about their memories and relationships with him.

This is a wonderful opportunity for us to be in Napa. We love the area and the people.  The deli is sort of a coming home for these two fourth generation, Napa-born girls.

Great story.......

Stefan,

Sounds like a wonderful place to eat! Italy is one of my favorite vacation spots. I'm always up for eating the delicious food that reminds me of the great vacations. Love your Localism info, too. It's snowing at my house right now, so I'd love to be in Napa where its 60 degrees!

I lived in Napa for almost 10 years while my husband worked at The Napa Register...fortunately, I have relocated to the NAPA VALLEY of the Right Coast * Central Virginia.

I found my LOVE of Silver Oak at the Napa Valley Fair!!!  I just wish they ran NASCAR at Sears Point when I was there.

Beautiful area * GREAT people!!
