Wordless Wednesday White water over the dam.

White Mountain rains are filling Loon Mountain's snow making ponds, in time for the snow machines to get cranked up. I drove up to the ski slopes today and the Snow guns were all out and ready for the first cold snap to start blowing the white stuff.

I have to say the Late October showers and the total lack of leaves, makes me ready for a change of season. The sign winter is near the clocks falling back, Wet cold weather,and tripping over my ski bag recently signaled change. Above shot: Bear Claw trail, view of Mount Washington over my left shoulder (last year).

Steve, Nice a fall pictures.. and yes I wonder sometimmes about those unicorns, I know in some of my friends you will fairies, not mine, maybe some rubie slippers.

June, You bet I am I could do without the shoulder seasons if it were at all possible....ya know, "Peak" Spring, summer and fall...none of this dreary cold wet yucky stuff in between ...Full on foliage and full on snow that's what I want.

Debbie,based on the profile picture , I would say you're living in a dress up land...any one horned mythical creatures where you are? (now later when you change your profile picture people will wonder what I'm talking about).

Steve, I just read my earlier comment to you and my typos make it appear as though I was already dipping into the Halloween Glogg. Funny, here in Utah you might just find those Unicorns. As far as crystal balls, they only seem to work on other people.

Steve.. Thanks for posting pictures of the water/waterfalls. I forgot how wonderful they look. Yes, snow is around the corner... LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE SNOW.

Spectacular photos! You really captured the water movement and the contrast of the leaves.

Snow making ponds now that's a new one for me. I see water running down the mountain and You see future snow.

i really loved splittin and stackin this time of year.

we use to spend weekend mornings and then get cozy for some football.

Loved the photo's use to live in Colorado Springs till 75 then moved to the Ozark mountain but the Colo. mountains still are beautiful thans for sharing....
