Snow Day in Highlands Ranch CO!

Snow Day in Highlands Ranch CO - and all over Denver area!

Yep, the first real snow storm is here! The news keeps referring to the storm as the Fall Snow Storm - It sure looks like winter to me! Here are some shots Brian took today (I'm staying inside where it's warm).

It's still snowing, and it's supposed to continue for awhile. Schools and many businesses are closed or closing early. Probably the same goes for tomorrow. The grocery stores were mad busy, otherwise the streets have been pretty empty - except for the snow plows that are doing a good job keeping the major streets open.

Wow, looks like a lot of fun. Although October's a little early for snow in my book.

Craig - yes, mine too! They say (whoever they are) that year/winter is going to be a snowy one around here... we'll see - I may need a long beach vacation :) ~Rita

We live in the foothills just south of Castle Rock and my neighbor just called to say we have about 3 feet in some areas. I think we'll be closing up shop early today! (We got caught in that storm around Christmas time a few years back and didn't get home for two days. NOT doing that again!!)

Rita, all I ask is that you hog that stuff for your self:)

Charles- Oh, I'm happy to share :). Some Denver areas (foothills) now have 28+ inches of snow, here around 14" - so far...

Wow! It sure looks like winter where you live. It looks like a cold December day not the end of October! The snow sure is beautiful no matter what month, right???

Al and Peggy - probably :) - it's supposed to clear up tomorrow - I sure hope so!

Rita - In Sacramento, we aren't so fortunate having an occassional snow days. . .The white stuff looks almost magical to me:-) Nice photos!

No school again today - 24+ inches - I think we'll be sledding to go trick-a-treating. ~Rita

That must be close to a record for snowfall so early in the year. I wonder how many people are scrambling to winterize their Halloween costumes!

John - I know it! We are winterizing too :) Luckily most sidewalks (if they were cleaned) are now open - it's another story to get to the doors...

Enjoy it! We get one every two years or so but it always slows things down for a bit and that is enjoyable :)
