I just heard it on the radio.  The info. from The Boeing Company:   Get info here

This could mean many things to the Seattle area.  Real Estate may become even more affordable--and houses may be even more difficult to sell.  I worked for The Boeing Company for 23 years and many things are just swirling through my mind.

I have been to Charleston, South Carolina and it is a wonderful place.

6 Comments on Sad News in Seattle/Everett--Boeing moving 2nd 787 line to South Carolina

Hi Leslie. My husband used to work for Boeing in Everett. So did his parents... and I graduated from UW. Lately I have noticed how much higher property assessments have been rising over the years. I have some property in Kirkland and wow just wow! Sometimes I wonder how some younger couples can ever enter the housing market there so this is some good news for them at least :-) ~ Lana

I hate to say it, but I think we all saw this coming. Hopefully this will allow for new opportunity in the Seattle/Everett area.  It would be a great time for another engineering/aerospace firm to start moving into the Seattle area.  We definitely have the human capital available.

Just trying to look at a the opportunity rather than the more frightening aspects.

Thank you for the update.

Lana,  That is what I have been thinking for a long time.  My Mother sold her rental home to my daughter a number of years ago at an amazingly low price.  They were very appreciative.

Raymond, I am usually a positive person but this is still sad for workers here--much because a lot is unknown surrounding their work.

I've worked for an aerospace company in the past. The impact on a city and the economy can be tremendous.

Hi Robert,  That was exactly the case in Seattle back in the 1980's.  Thank you for commenting.
