A Little Too Much Protection ~ Outside Air Condition Unit ~ Home Made Slab

When I saw this I was like WOW!  Someone went a little overboard with the concrete block.

Even though the block is heavy this thing is not stable at all!

Makes me wonder if Uncle Handyman really knew what he/she was doing when they installed the unit.

Or maybe they thought they had to make sure the slab was also raised.

What do you think?

Nikki,

I am curious as to what your recommendation was for this handyman engineering?

Wow, that is an unstable situation. Recommend that it  be placed on a permanent pad that will not be prone to falling. Nice find.

Ian, You are so right.... it is an unstable situation!

Ross ~ I had no recommendations for the Handyman... In this case the house belongs to a property management firm.

That management company will have to make the person that installed the unit aware that they did wrong!

My guess is they are trying to keep it out of the flood zone? but wow is that the ugly way to do it.

The least they could have done was turn the concrete block the right way!  Get it down onto a real slab!

Maybe they wanted it at eye level. ha..ha..  Like David said at least they could have laid the blocks in the right direction, clue #1.
