Here is an excerpt from the email I just got from NAR.  If you haven't seen this, maybe you need to join their free "Broker Involvement Program"!  http://www.realtoractioncenter.com/realtors/brokers/

I had to adjust it a bit to get it to fit on my Faceboook page.

First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit update! Tentative tax credit agreement of yesterday has changed. A new agreement on extending and expanding the tax credit has now been introduced as a separate, stand alone bill. It could be voted upon separately from the Unemployment bill. Or not. The timing of the votes is still up in the air, but the good news is that they are still working on it!

This has been a major effort by NAR so you dues are working for you!

I was tempted to delete the comment above, but decided not to since I am a firm believe in free speech and looking at all sides of the equation.

I do recommend that some of these programs come off as zero interest loans requiring a payback in the future.

Here is the current status of this per NAR's email I just received:

NAR just pushed an email via their "Broker Involvement Program" stating "there is no agreement on how to attach this tax creidt to the pending Unemployement Insurance bill, or whether to offer the tax credit agreemetn on another bill . . . and after Senate action, the tax credit must go to the House of Representatives for Action"!

I was surprised not only in the content of comment #1 above, but that the person that posted it didn't have a link to track to.  I even tried the AR search for that person and couldn't find anything.  Maybe you don't need to be logged in to post a comment?  If so, I oppose that!

According to many economists, this was one of the few stimulus packages that actually stimulated the economy.  People that bought homes went out to the home improvement stores to fix them up, they hired landscapers to make the exterior look better, they hired appraisers, inspectors and title companies to facilitate the transactions, etc.

I am always on the look out for the best ways for my clients to use specialty niche programs like this so if you are in the market for a home in the Boise, Idaho area, please don't hesitate to look me up.
