I just noticed today that I have 64 Active Rain subscribers to my blog . . . that's 64 people who may actually be interested in something that I have to say. To me, that's a great honor and I'm thoroughly flattered that I have been deemed subscription worthy.
But, when push comes to shove, I realize that while I am thoroughly grateful for the subscribers that I have, 64 really ain't much.
There are over 160,000 registered members of Active Rain. Using my handy, dandy calculator, I figure that my conversion rate is an appalling .0004. Yikes, that cannot be good. To make an impact on the world (read: to convert readers into buyers, sellers, or short sale negotiation clients), what do I have to do?
Stepping back a moment and thinking more clearly, I do realize that all 160,000+ AR members are not active. I do not know how many are active, but I figure it is probably only a small percentage. I figured this out pretty early in the game. I joined AR in March. At the time, there were 50+ Escondido Realtor members. The individual with the most points in Escondido had only about 10,000. (Needless to day I was featured in just about a month or so.)
So, maybe the task isn't that daunting. How many subscribers do you have? How do you convert readers into subscribers? I cannot even convert Mom, Dad, Brother, Kids, or The Lovely Husband. Heck . . . I'm not even sure they even know what a blog is ;-)
