WOW!  You guys responded within 5 minutes of my post!  Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!

Konnie, NC is beautiful, but so is northern VA!  I spent about 20 years after college in Bethesda, MD, before moving back to NC where I grew up!

Kathleen, I can't believe you lived in Greensboro!  I grew up in Reidsville, which is a few miles north of G'boro.  We used to get our kicks and do all of our major shopping in Greensboro.  Thanks for commenting!

Robert, thanks for the kind comments!  I've been experimenting with my new camera equipment - finally broken down and got some good stuff!

Thanks, Robert - this park is an oasis amid the crush of life.  I had just dropped my son off at football practice and couldn't believe how still and reflective the lake was.

Kryste - already cold in Oregon?  We've had a few really chilly days too, but mostly it's around 72, with blue skies.  It's my favorite time of year.  Thanks for commenting!

Melissa - I'm convinced that I need to visit the Carolinas one day!  I'm always stunned when I see the beauty coming from that area of the country.
