San Diego Real Estate Photo Blogger - Temecula Wine Country in Southern California

I had the pleasure to visit Temecula this past Sunday and I saw something so breathtaking and totally unexpected. I live less than hour from Temecula and passed through Temecula on my way over to Palm Desert a couple times a year. But I always take the short route through the new section of town. Living in San Diego and having never been to the Temecula Wine Country and not realizing what a strikingly beautiful area was certainly an eye opener. The size of the numerous Wine Estates and the acres of vineyards are mind boggling. I have never seen anything more beautiful or deluxe and you can be sure I am heading back very soon. You can be sure I will be writing more on the Temecula Wine Country and sharing some of the many photos. This photo was taken at the Wilson Creek Winery.

As a balloonist, when we fly at the Temecula event, I always comment on what a great area it is. You are in a great area!

William, This winery looks just beautiful.  I imagine it would be a wonderful stop over some time when you have time for more photo shoots and some really fine wine.

Legacy? Isn't that what the drunken children of drunks claim about their habits?

Mike, it's a good photo. But I've seen a lot of good photos of "Caulder's" doesn't mean I appreciator Caulder.

William - great photo. WE had a CRS meeting these a year ago but I don't recall seeing that bottle. Temecula is a fun place to visit and can get rather crowded at the wine tasting events. I particularly like Ponte Vineyards and their outdoor restaurant for brunch on the weekend. It's not Napa, or even Pasa Robles, but well worth visiting more than once.

Now THAT'S my idea of a bottle of wine! When do we get to uncork her? LOL I have never seen this area, but have a great appreciation for the Napa Sonoma wine country. I love to see the rolling hills of grapevines....

Hi Carole, they have a Hotel and Spa as part of the South Coast Vineyards and it is first class. They hold weddings at a lot of these places. They have turned the area in a real tourist destination. 3 weddings were going on while I was there. Been there and done that so I didn't take any more wedding photos. Got lots of others though. Just need a bit to get them sorted and cleaned up and uploaded into a slide show.

Judi, San Diego area and the adjacent counties of Riverside and Orange have so many things to discover that it would be impossible to get photos of them all. It took me twenty years and I am still discovering things. Imagine how long it would take ( not to mention that I still have to work for a living) to get them all. Strangely, that is a new goal I have and as I see, I do. Plus the seasons change and things always look either better or worse depending on the time of year. Right now , is looks brown and lifeless in a lot of areas. But as the rain comes ( if it does) things will green up, birds will sing again, bees will buzz and the grass will rise once again.

Hi Bill, I'll say. That bottle  was only difficult to shoot because the sun was in my eyes and everytime I lined it up, someone would just walk up to it. I must have spent 20 minutes and I almost had to beg people to just give a 3 seconds.

William - It appears to be a wonderful place for that type of event.  When I look at the size of the wine bottle, I keep envisioning an equally large platter of fine cheese:-)

Debi, When we get our first 1000 ActiveRain Photo Blogger members, we will have to just go there to celebrate and knock the top off that old bottle. Or we could be more civil and just pay the bazillion dollar charge for an afternoon of wine tasting. Wine makes me go to sleep though so you would have to be the designated driver. LOL

Hi Susan, It was made out of wire. I did see one ( a lot smaller than that but was huge compared to standard bottle. I never have to worry about bottles, I buy mine in a box. LMAO. Just kidding of course but I was wondering when I would get to say that. Of course I am talking about Wanda Sikes in "Mother in Law " referring to Jane Fonda's prior life as being dirt poor. I laugh everytime I think of it.

Hi Hannah, gosh, it was a quicky too, lol. I do have have some gorgeous photos and I will do a proper slide show post with some history of how it has grown to be such a major wine source. I am between slide shows right now . I have run out of room on several sites already and so I am looking for another new slide show format to begin.

Hi Myrl, Well since I don't eat cheese much, I didn't look for it,lol. But I love the taste of good wine but it makes me sleep, rather quickly too! Here is a pomegranate if that works. Actually I never saw a tree of these before but one winery had quite a few.

Hi Bonnie, I used to love going to the Nappa Valley. I know what you mean about the experience of it. Now it seems we have this extraordinary place right in my back yard ( almost ). Certainly less than an hour away. And I fully intend to go there , get the lay of the land and ENJOY. Which means that after a few tastings, I will find a place to lay out in the sun and fall asleep, LOL

William,

Temecula is just the next valley south of me.  When coming back to the area, let me know.  I'd love to finally get to meet you and say hi, face to face.

John

PS - Beautiful photos...as usual

I live in the area and actually got married at Ponte Winery (check that one out too) just 1/2 mile down the road from Wilson Creek.  This is the best time of year to visit.  Ahh heck, why not just buy a 2nd home out here:-)  You would be surprised at the level of talent that play at the Vinyards....some of the biggest names jazz play here regularly.

H Brad,

I sure was knocked out with the beauty of the place. Having only driven through the newer area of Temecula on my way to Palm Desert, I was totally stunned at the beautiful vast growing areas and the number of estate wineries. I did pick up the Wine and Jazz magazine while I was there and it is indeed impressive. Quite a place indeed.
