We discovered the best 2009 pumpkin patch in Chandler, Arizona, last Sunday evening, when we went with our granddaughter Ella, daughter Amy and her husband Eric in search of the perfect pumpkin.
We were delighted to find Michael and Sherri Phelps on the Notheast corner of Rural Rd. and Chandler, Blvd. Michael and Sherri have a huge tent that is chock full of bright orange pumpkins of all sizes.
They are proud of their pumpkins. The pumpkins are grown in Wilcox, Arizona and shipped in fresh to their patch here in Chandler. Michael and Sherri live on site in their motorhome.

When we arrived home Eric, our resident artist, set to work carving the pumpkin into a scary cat Jack-o-Lantern.
The Jack-o-Lantern actually casts a shadow out the back as well as outlining the scary cat on the front. Eric got some inspiration from a Pumpkin Carving Book Amy picked up called "Sensational Shadows" by Pumpkin Masters.
Ella is delighted and so very excited about Halloween. At three she keeps reminding us that Halloween is all about candy and don't forget Christmas is next!
Oh! By the Way! Michael and Sherri Phelps will be back at the same site, at Rural Rd. and Chandler starting Thanksgiving Day with fresh Oregon Grown Christmas Trees. Stop by and say. they are great folks!
