I did it

I love a butt kicking argument. You say your piece and I'll say mine. The more yelling and screaming the better. You say I'm a jerk and I respond that your mother is a jerk. We both go away mad. Of course, I also go away knowing that I'm right and you are wrong. That is obvious to anyone paying attention.

For 2 years now we have had some great debates here on AR. Some of our debates turn into he said and she said when the facts get weak. Other debates turn into third grade name calling forums. Accusations of personal attack run rampant. The saying that cooler heads prevailed, means nothing. There are no cool heads.

I have read where the AR power guys, or moderators if you will, spend hours everyday going over flags. They get to read our blogs and try to figure out which one of us was the meanest. Who used the worst name for their enemy. Poor guys. Who would want a job like that? I have always told myself that no matter how nasty it gets, I will not flag someone because that is childish. Sticks and stones and all of that stuff. Who cares. Take a deep breath and move on. Stick to the facts and the debate topic.

I did it. I am a flagger. I now feel like a piece of you know what. I lost my cool and wrote a letter to AR outlining how I was wronged. I was very proud of my letter. Real polished sounding, at least to me. They will see, simply by this letter, that I was right and the other idiot was wrong. I take it back.

I take back my flag, at least in thought, if not action. To respond that way was just as childish as calling the other person a whole list of names. It was the heat of battle and I took the sissy way out. "Mom". Like a few of my more mature colleagues on here, I will simply stick to the facts from now on. Back to the basics.  Keep in mind what my college debate coach taught me: Prove your point with facts, nothing else.

Sorry to have wasted anyones time. Now lets put the gloves back on.
