Nancy Pelosi unveiled her party's "solution" to health care reform this morning. She is taking great pride in producing this tome - a whopping 2,000 pages. On the surface this is ludicrous and just plain unplausible - regardless of its contents.

At any rate. the Democrats - apparently without allowing any Republican input - crafted this weighty document, and it includes the government option just as Pelosi promised it would.

She boasts that they listened to the American people in drafting this - laughable, if but for that one inclusion alone.

No, Ms. Pelosi, you should not be proud, You should be ashamed at the misuse of power. The Constitution does not give the Congress the power to demand that people subscribe to health care, that you offer it, or even that you consider such a concept. Then you have the fiscal irresponsibilty to propose such a bill.

I'm outraged, and I'm ashamed for you.

I agree....it's a ridiculous and dangerous power grab by the Federal Government....I hate to sound like a conspiracy nut, but why would I want my government to determine the most personal of choices, my health care. I'd consider an opt-out....but where is there left to opt out to?

I feel their gonna pass something even if it's not exactly what they want. That way they can "build" on whatever they have.

Scary isn't it how they try to rename & re-brand it but the end result is the same.

Isn't that the defination of insanity? Doing the same thing over & over expecting a different result?

Steve- if it smells like it; looks like it and feels like it when you step on it, then, YEP, that's what it is.  It sounds grand and magnanimous to make sure all of us "little" people have insurance.  Sure gets votes, doesn't it.  Who would disagree?  Yeh, well, how are we going to pay for it and who would YOU trust to run it?

Karen,

The government is the government. It provides - in very specific, enumerated powers - what we and the states cannot. Health care simply isn't one of those. :)

Diana,

Agreed except that if we can get the vote stalled until next year they won't dare pass it. :)

Kathy,

Very well said. I disagree with the whole premise, but that aside, it is the cost. We can't afford any part of it. :)

Washington is an embarrassment and most of the people there who no longer representing us need to be sent home and voted out of office.

Good luck and success.

Lou,

Totally agree. Time for a new face - and a new way of thinking. :)

Steve, since the constitution has been ignored, does that mean "we the people" can pick and choose which laws we'll obey?

I think Pelosi's arrogance will be the downfall and saving grace for us all!

Jon,

The Constitution is the people's document, but I wish we could get the government to behave correctly. BTW, this issue goes back several administrations and Congresses. :)

Gary,

That would be a fitting end to this saga. :)

Hugh,

She just shouldn't be in office - and certainly not as a leader. :)

I can't take much more of this insanity.  I hear New Zealand is nice this time of year.  Seriously, where do these people get off trying to take over our country and ignoring the constitution?  They all need to be voted out of office!

Great post Steve!  This is the time when all liberty loving people must talk to everyone they know and explain to them what is happening.  So many people are like sheep being led to slaughter.  They honestly don't understand the ramifications of this healthcare takeover.

Let's all educate our friends and family before it is too late!
